Honestly I hope he works on optimization for the next update.... version 1.0.15 was the last version that I was getting 60fps very smooth jitter free, now with 1.0.16 and 1.0.17 the framerate sucked in both with a dip ever other second....maxing out at 25fps....I reverted back to 1.0.15 and am getting smooth framerates again. If he adds anything else alot of people are gonna suffer even more framerate jitters and it'll become unplayable for some. Really hope optimization is part of the next update especially with biomes(however you spell it) are coming soon.
First say...you were wanting to make a long pole, you'd do this first:
Then you'd break the one under it and place the fence under it, like so..
Until..
In order for a fence to be placed it has to have something under it first by the way. After you place the fencing you can remove what you placed it on.
I haven't tried it on SMP, but the way you make it...well it seems that it at least SHOULD work..
I lit a big tree on fire about a week ago (game time) because it was blocking my view of my new lighthouse. The top half of the tree is still burning. The bottom half is gone. The leaves don't seem to have that problem. Also, not all the logs seem to have that problem. Many of the logs burned almost instantly.

I wonder since notch is apparently experimenting with MUCH harder mobs, that maybe in beta he'll start to make it where the mobs become progressively harder and harder. Like just zombies for the first 3 or 5 nights, then eventually creepers, then skele's, then spiders, then Skelespider God wtfimgonnadie things. Then giant mobs throwing creepers like someone said. So if you have a really good thing going on it'll be an entire ****ing siege at night.
Longer you stay in once place, the greater the seiges.
Giants throwing creepers over your castle walls.
Dragons setting your townhouses on fire whilst throwing skelespiders into the mix.
Then you run away, and build an entirely new home, and the process starts all over again.

YES.
I really kinda like this idea but i would suggest maybe making this extremely hard mode
K, now that I've read ALL 17 PAGES (minus any ninja's) I'm ready to comment. WIth all the speculation and trolling and discovery, nobody (or very few) talked about what I think is of the greatest importance right now: Server-Side Inventory!
I realize you can spawn any item you want right now but I might as well be playing creative mode if that's the case. I'm trying to run a roleplay server, which requires the inventory to BE server-side, but instead I get this other stuff that I could care less about.
Oh well, the fence architecture is cool, but I wonder if Notch will un-coolify it (making the fence break if you destroy the block below it), and for the record: once I saw the confirmation of skeletons riding spiders I knew that THAT was the thing Notch was talking about regarding the SMP update. It wasn't IN SMP, but it was a test for a future addtion TO SMP

So, hi, how's it going. I've been playing minecraft for a few months, but I've just now joined this forum because I have a couple of questions. (I only skimmed through this topic, so forgive me if what I'm about to ask has already been addressed, but as far as I could tell, there wasn't a whole lot of solid information.)
Okay, well, I've read on the wiki about slimes, but I've never seen one on any difficulty, and I've been in and out of caves a lot. What do they drop?
Also, I read how skeletons can sometimes wear armor, but every one I've seen came from a nudist graveyard. So, I'm wondering, do I need to update my minecraft launcher, or something?

I use it to make fireplaces.

Yup, as it stands now I only play on Hard and trying to fight 2 skeletons at once is a headache lol. Now there on Spiders.....**** that lol.

This is one of the best things I've seen done with fences. I think it looks better with an iron block, though:
I do maps and stuff.
...that u can put saddles on.
Oh god.
