Has anyone noticed how you can destroy the wall behind the painting and then jump through them (obviously the 2x2 ones) and use them as secret passageways?
I'm suddenly reminded of Super Mario 64. :tongue.gif:

Back in my day, sheep dropped brown mushrooms, and by golly we... Hated it, pretty much.

Notch had BETTER not "fix" this. Hearing this, I'm all the more desperate to make a dungeon map.

I imagine the enemies will be able to find these secret passageways without even looking for them, though. By that I mean they probably don't "see" the paintings at all, just a big doorway to creep through.
You can't always make secret passage ways and arrows destroy the paintings. Most times the paintings just fall off the wall if you delete the blocks behind it.
I've been able to place a painting, put blocks on the front face and then delete the blocks behind it before though. Doesn't always work though, just like the secret doors.
Also, sometimes deleting a painting nets you two painting blocks. o.o

Must of gone through about 100 paintings and this picture hasn't shown
Lol, that one is 3x3, from what i see, you don't have enough space.
I tried it in a 4x4 space i removed some of the paintings and still didn't get that picture
Try placing it one block up and one block right of the bottom-left corner of the 4x4 area. Paintings are a bit finicky about how they arrange themselves from where you place them, even if you have enough space.
This reminds me of Duke Nukem 3D like hideouts.
Now I've got a need to make a giant secret base of some giant alien overlord behind a smallish 1x1x2 painting.
Wow that game pissed me off. Yeah it's probably up there with HL1 and Doom for the best FPS games of their time, but the 'secrets' in that game were just ****ed. Climb through one window that looks exactly the same as 20,000 other windows except it doesn't have a clipbrush behind it (Probably not the right term, I don't think they used clipbrushes back then).

It's 4x4, actually.
Also, I cleaned mine up and framed it. Pretty. :3

Pretty cool update.
Anyone else seem to have it duplicate sometime of you make/break it enough times?

It was already possible to craft them by putting three stone blocks side by side in the crafting table.
He means natural stone ( ), not steps ( )
Yes, that was just an excuse for me to use the block smilies.
I like the Woman sitting on the couch with the pixel ice bergs in the water better
I hope you knew that.
That's my favorite one :biggrin.gif:
It's probably my third, right after the sunset and the window.

Is this who I think it is? LBPC?
Anywho, I have made my secret hideaway behind a painting, so this is an awesome update.
