Finishing the game is a 'future update'. It's an added bonus if the game gets finished.
No, the final product is a FINISHED game. Not a patch. You are paying for the finished game, not the alpha or beta.
Here is a quote directly from the purchase page:
Please note that when you buy the game, you're paying for the game as it is right now!
It's very specific. We're not paying for the finished version. We're paying for the game as it is right this very moment. Any updates later are a bonus. Nowhere does it say we're paying for the finished game anywhere. Please find me a quote where it says that, and we can end this arguement.
Managed QA and development through to completion? Many.
What else do you want to know?
For what company, and what games?
What relevance is that? You do realize that software QA fundamentally follows the same practices, irrespective of whether its a game or an enterprise product?
It matters a lot, since you are basing your argument on it.
Do I expect Notch to be performing basic, fundamental testing of his updates even in 'Alpha'? Yes, absolutely.
Again, it's all about what YOU expect. It doesn't matter what you expect.
Nowhere does it say we're paying for the finished game anywhere.
Nowhere does it say that all patches/updates will be 100% tested. Nowhere does it say that the game will be playable at all times. Nowhere does it say that there will be a QA/Test team involved with patch releases.
If you wanna troll about notch about developing the game, make your own as good as notch. Not so easy is it?
EDIT: THAT LINE MA NEW SIG!
I gotta respond to this, did siskel and Ebert have to make movies to be a movie critic? no, I know there is a differnce here, but you don't NEED to have Developed something in the same media to be able to comment on something within that media, That line is a pet peeve of mine.

Siskel & Ebert didn't critique the movies before the cast was chosen and the script was still being written.

But this is what you are demanding.

Try again.
I got it, the customer doesn't matter - once they buy the product.

Alpha or not, even Notch knows he's been slacking.
