Is there a better backup plugin available? Either through hey0 or something else? I'd like to backup every 10-15 minutes, but the 10 second freeze during save/backup is getting annoying.
I don't seem to get lag when my server saves. You might need a more powerful Server.
Server 2008 - 64bit - Intel Q9400 (2.66GHz Quad Core) - 8GB RAM. Java 6u22, not sure if there are any issues with that version or not. Regardless, the server is plenty powerful, so I'm not sure what's going on.
Virus, the multiplayer version of minecraft alpha is buggy as heck still. many people experience lag even on brand new computers. I kinda dont think its your computer or the mcadmin. you can try this by opening the server without the mcadmin, it has a save function as well built into it. you could give that a try to see if its the mp client itself. btw, I'm assuming your running a modern internet connection somewhere between 10+mbs
It's on a 100mbit dedicated server. The issue, I found out, is with the save-all function. It pauses the game for several seconds while it runs that. I'm guessing this is what dumps the map data from memory and saves it to the HDD. It's a shame it doesn't do a differential save of all the data, as I guess it's saving everything, and our map is ~100MB.
Also, I've allocated 3GB of RAM for the server to run, I'm not sure if that's better for it or not when it comes to saving. I have a feeling there's a memory leak somewhere as it takes up all 3GB in a matter of minutes.
How can I get plugins for hey0s mod to work in MCAdmin. As much as I like the fact MCAdmin uses GUI, making it easier to make a server.. Many commands are missing. And I have indeed found a way to make hey0s mod itself work with MCAdmin, but I want plugins for hey0 to work as well. Ex: cuboid plugin, griefalert, channelchat, chestprotect, etc.

Since you cannot mod the program mcadmin runs (from my knowledge)its not compatable with hmod. if your looking for a wrapper like this that is, you could try visual admin. or perhaps wait for an update to make it compatable.

Make a folder called 'plugins' in your MCAdmin folder. Copy the .jar files to that folder. Then, edit your server.properties and add the name of the plugin to plugins, ie: plugins=CuboidPlugin,
I always end the line with a comma as it's the only way it works for me. Once that's done, you need to either restart the server or type enableplugin <name> from the console or /enableplugin <name> from the game. It should work after that.
@drats666: This may be a red herring, but have you waited a little longer before pressing start? There should be more lines about updating before it's actually finished the updating process. Here's output on mine before a start:
Verifying existence of essential files...
Essential file validation completed!
Checking for updates...
MCAdmin already up to date!
JAR already up to date!
Checking for mod updates...
Update checking done!
See what happens if you wait for that "Update checking done!" line before pressing/typing start.
I've not experienced the looping but definitely had problems getting the server to start when pressing go before the update checking was complete.
Waited over 10 minutes, it loops even after its done. as stated above, need an update. -.-

ok =( no setspawn is there way to make a new map cause i just used the current map for runecrafting =) (faithrune)
could always zip your current world up, or in server props. change Level name: to a new world. mine loads Dratscastle when it begins. don't even need to follow the minecraft standards of World1-5
Same thing is happening to me

it assigned the 1gig of ram, the default the mcadmin sets it to run. pretty sure its 1 gig. and yes i'm running 32 bit operating system.
I can't get MCadmin to work. All i get is "Starting..." in yellow. I left it for an hour, and still didn't work. If I run the .jar it sort of works (the console opens and the server seems to start up, however can't connect).. I've seen other people have this and they said "run in compatibility mode" but that didn't work either.. Does anyone have a solution?
Specs: X2 3800+, 3.5GB Ram, Win 2k3, 3TB storage
On Windows Server 2003, please set the Compatibility mode settings to "Windows XP". This should fix your issue.

Please remove Runecraft and all other java mods. They need to be fixed up for the new server.
To all with "Invalid Packet ID: X". MCAdmin has been fixed to be able to work with Notch's new packets! Make sure you run the latest version!
