Its not like the average role playing server, ware players get roles that they just do the entire time in a cycle. This is a dynamic role playing server ware the roles allow the server to be played more like an actual rpg and not like runescape without leveling(who would play runescape if you couldn't even level?).
There are positions for roles that change each cycle. It's kind of like playing out a movie ware the players are dynamic and the story plays out based on the decisions the simulated player characters make and the reactions the simulated non-player characters make. Might sound complicated, but, its not. This is how it works.

All Staff decide the roles of the non-player characters
I will leave it this simple for now, but, when players aren't role playing, staff will be making the world map a little more world map like. Greifing the ground is not allowed because its still a part of the world map for the players. There will be various things added in and on a non-player character simulators will be on a separate channel chatting with the staff about what to do.
Notes-
-When an npc dies, there will be minecart systems set up around the world map completely automated to allow them to get into position faster. I can make fully automated minecarts.
-When a player character dies, they become npc's and the story might change a little, such as a damsel being held hostage or something, or maby even a traitor.
-When there is only one player character left, its game over.
-The enemy will set up traps, and monsters will be allowed.
-Players are moving down a linear path.
-There are designated area's that players can't proceed down unless a staff member tells them, with that being said, there are zones players must stay in once told and can't leave until a mission is complete.
-When told to act a specific way to something such as a road block, the player characters must act lively and chat about it as if they were really that character.
I was thinking of adding shops, having npc's hold gold bars or ore's for players to give to a city blacksmith npc for the player to pay the smith to smith a higher tier weapon or sell them a stone sword or wooden.
When player characters complete their mission or fail epic, 4 npc's get to be chosen for playing next. There will be a list so its fare. Before the cycle begins, 1 player character will get a flint and steel to simulate a mage or something. one will get a bow with some arrows, one a wooden sword and one a stone sword. The player with the stone sword is the protagonist. Player characters must stay in the boundary and can't use minecarts.

I'd like to be a quest giver hehe. But it would require some map editing ability, to pop some monster, and even make some of em stronger, and why not pop chests with valuable items in etc.
Well it needs to be developed, it can't stay so simple on paper. Come on let's do it :smile.gif:
=D I like your enthusiasm, but, I can work only withen my limitations, but, If you seriously want to help then yes! I will accept. I'm very good at waisting time on minecraft so I won't have a problem altering entire large area's. Remember though, I can't regulate monsters or alter monsters stats. I can however set up your dream scenario, from my own remake version of a mario game with swords (lol), or maby zelda story remade, to my own version of the fantasy zone. I don't care about what I want to role play right now, specially because its not fun to role play by your self So I want to hear what your idea's are first and everyone elses idea's. If enough people help me out, I can set it all up alone before smp goes pvp and "EVERYTHING" will be ready by the time pvp comes, that includes multiple courses for various stories, and room for more.

Right now I am preparing for a PVP Rp server. Crafting and Building won't be nessessary with the idea I had in mind. There are designated attacking npc's that will wait for a player to get to a specific point before attacking and a minecart system out of veiw from the player will be accessable to the npc's to get into position before players reach the next point of interaction. Let me give you a run though.
Lets say there are these four players here-
-P1
-P2
-P3
-P4
Then we have the npc's-
-N1
-N2
-N3
-N4
If we don't have enough npc's then we could always take a player away.
Story: Your mario and bowser is up to his old tricks again.
P1 = Mario
P2 = Luigi
P3 = Toad Warrior
P4 = Toad Warrior
Lets give them all stone swords, but, no armor. Their journey starts at a castle ware npc's take roles.
N1 = Toad King
N2 = Roaming Toad Warrior
N3 = Roaming Toad Warrior
N4 = Roaming Toad Warrior
So the town has 3 roaming toad warriors and 1 toad king inside the castle telling mario the bad news. After mario hears the bad news, THIS IS WARE IT GETS FUN. The player character can do whatever he wants exept kill his 3 comrads with him. He can-
-Kill Toad King, Npcs will act to protect the king, but, if he dies, story plot will change
-Go with the current plot
-Argue with or make fun of the king until the NPC's attack
-Whatever the player can imagine exept grief
So when the player and their team leave, the Npc's will go to the mine cart in the restricted area and take position, most likely without weapons. When the players are on their way threw varrious terrain, npc's will constantly attack the players, without weapons, and the players must keep killing the defenceless npc's, but, remember, food for the players isn't easy to come by and there probably won't be any one the course.
Arriving at the castle, an NPC will get in full diamond with a diamond sword, a bow, and a flint + steel to simulate a boss, and the npc's will use stone swords for the first and only time. The fourth npc will be in a cage above some lava behind bowser, saying "help me". Before the battle begins, the player will chat with the npc bowser. Bowser will offer mario lots of gold and a castle as long as he keeps princess peach.
-Accept: Bowser goes in the cage, chat rapes peach, then kills her and himself
-Decline: Bowser attacks mario with his homies
Depending on how the player and his team end the story, will decide how much role playing "points" the players receive, which can be used by the players to buy me into making a new role playing story and course.

Come up with a plot and I can attempt my best in making it a reality. Right now all I need is members, I can pretty much move the entire map myself =D. Come up with a story and I will be more then happy to make it as true as I can =D. The only thing I need from you is the willingness to be either an npc or a player when the server is up and pvp is up.
