That is why I am going to create my own server to play with a friend. Only 1 friend.
I will do it when the multiplayer with mobs gets released. We even live in the same building, so we can play over LAN if we want. No one will destroy our things :smile.gif: you guys should do this.
Sound really ****ing boring, to be honest, I'd rather play with people who try to raid my base :3
I mean, all the fun of survival is surviving, finding people to work with, barely surviving, and **** being hard. It's what real men do!
I joined a private server with a few people, but...well...Survival Multiplayer isn't much of a survival game atm, it's just people placing tons of blocks except for ones that you have to smelt.
Then Billy asked Harry if he wanted to read his BDSM blog. Harry was so surprised that his pants flew right off. He was wearing women's underpants. The inquisitors were wearing them, too.
What's all this about banlisting? Who does this? There's nothing you can do if you make an enemy out of someone with power over it, and suddenly, whoops, you're banned from 95% of servers.
Punkbuster all over again, regret 2142 for 50 dollars..
You pay for a game, you get banned in one for whatever reason, and you can't play in servers. New servers take the list of banned players, making it impossible for you to ever have a chance.
Once authentication is corrected, very few people will risk 10 dollars on stupid crap like griefing, at least, on the good servers that matter. But they might give a heads up to other servers with proof of griefing.
Especially with extremely active ops who are monitoring people all the time. Would be lucky to get 30 blocks worth of tunneling done before they were on your rear.
To the veeeery few people who've played on my hamachi server, I've made it clear /iron and /wood are not to be used, ever. I'll intervene when resources start going dry, but that's all.

SURVIVAL MULTIPLAYER. Not creative 2.0, yes?
Why not? We can't smelt any ore until furnaces are fixed.
Also, if you're building out of wood, especially when it's SO easy to get stone, even more with the ability to quickly get iron tools, you forfeit your right to complain about pyros running around. Unless of course it's a "no lighting stuff on fire" server, then that person is just an ass.
A furnace that is permanently going and just needs to be full of coal all the time can smelt successfully, it can be spawned by commands/server owner console. Just, when it runs out, it reverts to the non working one. But it's still highly possible to do. Oh, and cobble is easier to mine than wood is to harvest, so.
Plus, this is for my server. I don't see youuuuuuuu.
Speaking of fires, I entered a server that had apparently met a pyro.Soon after I connected the pyro left. I didn't take screen shots because Minecraft won't let me. All that was left of that pyro was a 2 block log that was on fire as well as floating. I was on the server for an hour or so and that log was still burning. And still there. So I nicknamed it the Chuck Norris log.

Well, in minecraft we all know that **** is created by other **** by finding that **** and doing **** to it, you know what i mean?
News flash: This is Alpha. There is an extremely high probability that your save files won't last very long anyway. I wouldn't get too attached to big and fancy structures just yet.
I'm waiting for the software to be polished before I even begin working on my base.
What about those of us who don't have friends who play minecraft? Are we just supposed to deal with the constant lag and destruction?
Play on a server with a respectable reputation.
Its like D3 servers in Creative, they almost never have griefers, so i tend to stick to those servers only.
Once passwords and banlists are implemented you'll see a sharp downfall in griefing.
I saw fire start up in front of me, i had no flint & steel on me, and the building just was on fire.
No other player was near that area.
I left out of paranoia that id be falsely accused again.

Yeah but one of the D3 admins is a douchebag, I cant' remember who atm though...the other ones are awesome though.

NO.
NO.
DON'T START THIS **** AGAIN.
First, Ignatius used the rock.
Then Billy asked Harry if he wanted to read his BDSM blog. Harry was so surprised that his pants flew right off. He was wearing women's underpants. The inquisitors were wearing them, too.
They realized that they were all men of the lord.
