as he has stated before and may be the answer to your problem and mine, i believe he's added us to the whitelist but not given us groups yet (of the 4 when applied) and therefore that is the error that probably pops up.

If this is the problem, then i would like be in the Faction of the Creepers. Hopefully, I can join, cause I like the realism and cooperation we can do in this game. Cmon Jalexxx!

REAL MEN DON'T PLAY AS TESTOSTERONE-POISONED SPACE MARINES, REAL MEN PLAY KIRBY.

Specialities: (fighting, mining, building, etc.) mining/building
*edit fixed some spellings it was hard in the dark

Specialities: (fighting, mining, building, etc.) fighting and building
Name: CookieHustla
Faction I'd like to join: The Order of the Creeper
Fighting experience: Mostly single player, but I've messed around on a few PvP SMP servers before
Specialities: Fighting. I love setting traps.
I'd like to give your server a try, I'm still trying to find the "right" pvp server for me to spend most of my time on.
Name: Incorporeality
Faction I'd like to join: The creepers really, but it seems that everyone has been joining them and things will be horribly imbalanced. If so then maybe whichever one of the others needs some players. I only saw one join the fire group but then it would suck to be fighting alone every weekend :sad.gif:
Fighting experience: Azrooh's anything goes pvp server, a couple other pvp servers. Its been mostly crashy since the combat 'fix' and he had mixxit before that so I don't have a lot of experience w/ the standard combat how it is now. However I play a lot of first person shooter games and am pretty good and its the same basic skill set (plus a lot more dealing with lag :ohmy.gif:).
Specialities: Proably combat though I'll have to see, I build a lot of cannons so if you allow us to harvest mobs to create enough tnt to use cannons (not much point with ten or twenty tnt) then I'll probably do a lot of this. Been meaning to try to design my auto-loading cannon. Also a pretty good hand at standard building.
EDIT: Everything past here is a giant wot and can be sumarized as "How do your faction battles work and wouldn't this be awesome?" If you don't feel like reading I certainly won't be offended, but I'd love some info on the specifics of your pvp system and the risk/benefit system.
I'm kinda curious to know more about your server though? How exactly are the faction battles going to work? Is there a point to it - for instance are there territories between the main cities we can fight for control of on the weekends, or do we fight to outright destroy the enemy and permanently wipe them from the game, or is it just a for fun fight each weekend with nothing changed in the power balance by it? Personally I'd prefer the first, it'd be neat to see a map divided up into territories with each faction starting off with one corner and capable of assaulting any neighboring territory each weekend. On weekdays cities would be completely protected (cuboid for buildings + pvp turned off in that cuboid) and their territories would all be cuboid protected (so the resources could only be harvested by the owners) but open pvp still (so the people who can't get on on the weekends can still get some raiding in. TNT would be nerfed on weekdays so that whoever controlled the territory still had a massive advantage and could hide indefinitely behind walls. You could also allow teleport to the central hub of each territory to members of the faction that controlled it to give even more advantage).
Then on the weekends you would be allowed to attack any neighboring territory (Neighbor to one of your territories before the opening of the weekend battles, meaning even if you lost a territory on the first day you could still end up with that border extended if you gave a hard second half push). The simplest way I can think to work it is to put an adminium pillar at the center of each territory (the 'hub') and give each faction a totem (each equally difficult to build of course). There would be no cuboid protect on these territories on weekends other than each team's home base, and control at the end of the weekend of the contested territories (basically a line of each team's territories along their border, one territory wide on each side) would go to whichever side of that border dispute had their idol on the adminium pillar. If neither had a completed idol (giving the tnt a lot more purpose as last minute gold :biggrin.gif:) the territory would remain in contention for the next week, with no cuboid protect or pvp protect and both sides free to exploit the resources as they will.
This would create an enormous demand for territories, because of course eventually if you have only your city and one or two other blocks of land you're going to exhaust all the minerals and you're going to be under heavy attack from enemies along all borders. One thing I might add is that in this system it would probably be best to limit the number of territories each side can attack, (two per side perhaps) and require them to declare those within the first day of combat. The protects wouldn't come off on the territories until they had been declared. This would keep people from just going in at the last minute each weekend and destroying any enemy idol that couldn't be guarded because of realistic slot restrictions with tnt, or jsut destroying a couple of blocks. It would limit the field so that both sides could have more fun and not try to stretch their numbers too thin, and so that the whole map didn't immediately become contested zones.
Also you could allow the creation in this system of new factions, which could get their idol verified and exist in the disputed territories that were not disputed, and try to win one of these territories for themselves. It would be nice to see if people coudl start w/ no support and no protected city and establish themselves. You could make this their protected city if a new faction manages to capture a territory, or just simply let them duke it out on their own with their homeland is being attacked every weekend. Alternatively it could be stated that any city territory when isolated (completely surrounded by enemy territory) would become disputed and no longer protected (so if the upstarts could grab another piece of land and prove that they were for real not just lucky they would become established).
I'm sorry for this extra long rant in your thread, you were just kinda vague w/ how the combat rules worked and my mind ran wild :biggrin.gif: I would really like to try whatever you've got set up, though, or at least hear about it.
Also, any chance of putting runecraft in? There are some really neat spells for combat in there. I'd love to see a server that actually allows things like faith, and I'm still curious if that awesome hell's maw rune llama mentioned a couple posts down on the first page of the runecraft thread is real. I think that these things could work ingame if you just restricted them to certain members, maybe requiring people to complete tasks to obtain the ability to use the griefer prone runes to prove that they wanted them for legitimite reasons, or maybe just waiting till you knew they were serious (I kinda like the idea of a school of magic, though, maybe run in the main city (your city?). People could choose to spawn here w/o a nation as civilians and work with you for a while helping w/ city projects and gradually being given access to the more and more powerful runes as they prove they're good members. Plus things like faith would only be possible on disputed territories so they wouldn't really be a problem anyway, using them there would be legit all out weekend warfare).
Anyway again sorry for the wot and I reallyw ant to hear more about this server which has obviously piqued my interest :biggrin.gif:
