So has anyone had any experience with any of these providers and had any luck?
Mynecraft.com has been VERY good for us. We've had no complaints. They are very kind and provide great service. The servers don't lag and they are always adding cool new features.
A group of us on a gamer forum signed up for mynecraft.com about a week ago, and we have barely been able to play minecraft since. Their support has been very kind, however our server has constantly been down 95% of the time and we're starting to get restless.... :sad.gif:
the company has been around for years hosting other games, so they aren't new to the hosting business. very established. very professional.
the "control panel" they have (called clanforge) is super nice. very high-tech and user friendly. one-click installation of mods and addons. easily edited config files and such. i've rented for about 4 weeks now, and in that time they have constantly added new mods/addons.
great communication. quick replies on all of the issues i have had. they are good about doing research and communicating to customers when an issue is found (even when the issue is a fault of the the minecraft server software and not the host).
cheap price. not the cheapEST, but cheap. also - i got a free mumble server with my server (google mumble if you dont know it, its like ventrilo, etc...)
while they do and have in the past offered a lot of addons, they don't give root access to do whatever you want. however, the is a simple, easy-to-use form to upload whatever mod you want. they review it and respond. so it is possible to get custom addons that arent there yet (i have not done this yet).
I would only recommend Multiplay if you are in the UK. They have great service, but there U.S servers are super laggy, to the point where it was unbearable to play.

i am in the US. in KY actually. no complaints about lag. they have servers based in the US. my server, for instance, is hosted in Herndon, VA.
edit: as another FYI, just for comparative purposes, i'm paying $6.08 us dollars per month for an 8-slot server, with a free 8-slot mumble server. they offer discounts for prepaying for longer terms, but i'm not doing that at the moment.
We host about 20 minecraft servers over the past 4 or 5 days at Hosted Game Servers
Our customers love us, our price is hella low and our servers do _NOT_ lag. FREE mumble voice included. FREE web hosting included. Awesome patch system and great control panel. Automatic setup.
I'd like to mention that servercraft.co is a great host. My server was set up promptly and I have had no problems with it. The guy's running it are very helpful!
How does this server http://www.multiplaygameservers.com/ work for me ( and my friends ) here in Norway? What would the best choice be? Germany server or US? And good upkeep? No crashes?
Thanks! Couldn't be happier for this post here lol :smile.gif:

not sure about which location to request. i have a US server cuz my friends and i are in the US :-P
yes good upkeep. and maybe 2 crashes that ive noticed in 2 months. crashes auto-reboot anyways, so they were mere minutes of downtime.

Multiplay sucks TBH.. I have sent 2 tickets now about refunding due to horrible performance, and they say they will answer my ticket "Later today" But now it's been 3 days!!!! They "aim" to answer before 24 H, Good job MPUK!!
- To anybody, DON'T use their service it's horrible uptime and performance! They advertise about all their "Pre configured plugins" But that was my work, my links and my uploads -.- I have uploaded at least 40 of them, and I have also kept them updated on the plugins, because they we're to lazy to check themselves.
I will soon buy a server at servercraft or artofwarcentral.. Anybody who got some more experience with them?
i dunno.... i feel like im looking like an undercover employee... but... im definitely not.
ive had easily 99.5% uptime in the 2 months ive had multiplay. not a single complaint. maybe your on one of their machines that were attacked or that they posted advance news about taking down/repairing (they communicate good in this way).

done, and thanks. looks like some sweet deals with the freebies.
also - anyone have any more reviews for companies they've tried? good/bad/neutral?
Just posted a thread, and seems very reasonable!
good lookin' out. thanks chief. added.
A friend has a server with them and it crashes at least once a day, for hours at a time sometimes.
Thanks! Couldn't be happier for this post here lol :smile.gif:
