Haha, nothing says fun like playing with files and folders. I just nerded. And for the person who suggested putting the Nether files into the normal world files, you get a Notch of approval.
@Sandwhich
You switched the chunks around :biggrin.gif: EPIC, if you could find out where your house is, you could make 30 of your houses, right next to each other
You guys want a LP of this? I'll make one, no problem!
Default skin, Painterly, or Super Minetroid?
Edit: A tutorial how to have a mixed norm/hell world first please?

Nice color and size spam..
It's not spam, dude, this is just how I talk
Dude! That's totally math! We should hang out sometime and slay evil and junk!

TUTORIAL:
ACCESS YOUR MINECRAFT FOLDER
PC: Click the start menu
Type %appData% in the search box
go to Roaming
Minecraft
Saves
(The world you want)
*I suggest saving a copy of the original, just in case
CHANGE THE FILES
The nether world files are located in the DIM-1 folder
The real world files are in the World folder
Options:
You can swap all the files inside the World folder and the DIM-1 folder
You can swap chunks(the number/letter files)
You can put files from your other worlds in there( involves opening another world file)
You can really do anything
RESULT
No matter what the real world will have blue sky and white fog
and the hell world will have red sky and red fog
As you explore, the game generates more chunks/files, the files generated will always be the correct files for where you are, so if you make your netherworld a real world, then explore farther than is generated already, the world will begin generating nether chunks, which will result in pillars of nether blocks
Bugs:
Items stay in the chest when you duplicate the chunks, giving you two sets of items :biggrin.gif:
can delete the top adminium blocks of the nether when u replace a nether world chunk with a real world chunk, allowing you to walk on top of the nether :biggrin.gif::D:D
Water can be in the nether
I just did the unthinkable..and completely swapped under and over-world files. This is what I got:
Unfortunately, you just missed seeing a ghast being destroyed by lava. Nor did you see the ****ing SPIDER that jumped out from behind me and pushed me below, killing me. You can tell by the fog that I'm technically above ground
EDIT: This is really cool. Using a portal to get to the Nether again, I found myself in a copy of my original world. If you want to take survival to the next level, it's something you could try
This looks so cool :biggrin.gif:

I love Blizzard, but god help me, WoW is a giant money engine that uses human souls as fuel.
I would, but I am trying to find a clever phrase to add to this pattern ;_;
I approve.
why is this the first thing I thought of while reading this thread
Edit: I tried it out and this is what I got

Sorry for the colors, I converted it to JPEG format and I believe something happened in the mix :wink.gif:
I would, but I do not know how to record with fraps ;_;

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm doing it wrong.
Later though after walking forever I found this.
