Seriously, all of you idiots who keep making threads about how this update ruined the game, how Notch cant make real updates, and how the grass on the sides of grass blocks doesnt match the top (That was Leandro: viewtopic.php?f=1016&t=70827 ), stop whining! How can you whine about a few bugs, when you get a whole abundance of new features? If you dont like playing in the normally closed alpha stage, wait untill the full game, and then come whine about bugs...

Herobrine does not exist. He is not in the code anywhere, there is not a faintest mention of a mob like this. Herobrine does not exist. All encounters are hoaxed and are clearly hoaxed. Some are good hoaxes, but still fake.
What do you mean? I can walk into hell? Properly! I can walk into another biome, i can fish, i can pick a pumpkin? I dont understand what you mean about "None of the new features work properly", because they sure do to me.

This update is a step in the WRONG direction. The update was rushed, and none of these updates have to do with what Minecraft is all about. Which is building and creating and using your imagination and the landscape to create a structure which you can share with the world. Putting in a dimension that is incredibly boring and loud, putting in fishing which isn't even necessary and a waste of time, and biomes which are too damn small for me is a step in the WRONG direction.

As far as the poll goes, I voted Biomes, because my world was a snow world. Today when I logged on, it had stopped snowing. I assume that's due to the Biomes. That's the first change I noticed. :ohmy.gif:)
As far as the thread OP goes, an update that includes a cess pool of bugs, beginning with something as benign as leaves no longer disappearing, to something as asinine as inventory disappearing forever upon death, will result in complaints coming in, especially in a forum that Notch occasionally does read.
You'd think people would be used to this by now. This forum isn't here just so people can stroke his e-nise, nor should it be. Complaints have been a bit overdone, sure, but it's hardly to be unexpected.

Agreed.

Disagreed, that is part of what people like about it.

Yes, you can walk into the Nether, but when you walk back out, you randomly get teleported into the middle of nowhere.
And yes, you can walk into another biome, and then two steps later walk into another one because they are so small.
More bugs:
1.Water doesn't stop fall damage.
2.Leaves don't despawn.
3.Armour is bugged.
4.HD texture packs don't work.
5.Skins don't work.
6.Mobs spawn everywhere, even in lit areas.
7.Mob damage is crazy, most of them one hit kill you.
Etc.
1. It does to me? Just make sure its deep enough, and not one block down
2. Does that matter so much notch ruined the game, and made it uplayable?
3. Good point, but not game breaking
4. Notch cant be responsible for that, because they never worked previously. They were bugged with fire in the corner of some blocks, and no water or lava flow animations
5. I dont really see what the big deal is?
6. No they dont, they spawn in lighter areas the deeper you are. Make a floating fortress with torches everywhere if you are afraid of them
7. I dont get one hit killed by them, so you better turn the difficutly down :wink.gif:
And about the nether portals, you can easily connect two portals using this tip: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=70708

How many portals did you make and test this out on. Did you just make one and it glitched so you turned into your 500 lb internet tough guy? Every single glitch people are bringing up has never happened to me and ppl talk about all these bugs upon death. How bad do you have to be to die in minecraft. And who carries all there most valuable **** on an expedition

Anybody else having this problem? I'm trying to till grass to get some seeds, but all it ends up doing is digging the dirt. Plus the hoe is indestructible.
I'd suggest pimp-slapping, but if she's indestructible then you can't exactly instill much fear.
This is like a frontier - The next few updates will be fixes. If you wernt complaining about this patch, ou would be complaining that there arnt enough. Very counter productive behaviour. Notch is doing the best, think of that.
Well, you know what? It's probably suck-ish and rushed to you guys because YOU guys rushed Notch. You guys just kept on whining and bitching wanting PERFECTION on a game that IS NOT FINISHED YET. Let Notch do his ****ing job and wait! All you desire will come when you wait! It's not that ****ing hard. If the game is so un-playable, then go play something else and wait till Notch releases a bug-fix. I can tell you there will be one sooner or later.
Seriously guys. All these rant/trolling threads are pissing me off. And I'm sure it's pissing off other users here aswell. Just whining makes you look like an abrupt child.
1. I dove into an ocean and it damaged me. I'm not the only one.
2. It is still an annoying bug.
3. It is when you get one hit killed.
4. He is responsible for that. They worked fine in the last two updates, and now they got broken.
5. It isn't a big deal, but it is still a bug.
6. They do, just look around the forums, you'll see pics of zombies and skeletons spawning on top of torches.
7. I'm playing on easy and getting one hit killed by zombies.
1. I just dove into an ocean, and took no damage. None at all. Business as usual.
2. I'll grant you that it's annoying.
3. Haven't run into anything to do that yet.
4. No, he's not responsible for breaking HD textures. They never worked properly. Unless you count user created mods. That Notch didn't do. So no. They didn't work properly the last two updates, because they never worked properly. Again, business as usual.
5. My skin works. The skins of everyone on the server I play on work. Don't know what your problem is.
6. Again, haven't played enough single player to see.
7. See above.
Anyways. This is alpha. You know, the phase before beta. Beta is the bug fixing phase in software development. Alpha is the feature adding phase. There will be bugs! And you were made aware of this when you bought the game! If you chose to ignore that and think that you are owed a perfectly working game at all times, before it's even to beta, you need to brush up on your reading comprehension skills. People need to stop acting like little children here. Seriously. It's very unbecoming.
And by the way, this also goes to anyone who thinks that their vision of what Minecraft "should be" is more correct than Notch's. It's his game, he can add whatever he wants to it, and guess what? That's what Minecraft should be! Because he's the one who made it! You have a problem? Go make your own game. Otherwise, wipe those tears away and man the hell up. It's just a game.
Quoting myself from another topic because it seems to fit.
I thought Notch had said somewhere that you would be able to see schools of fish?
Wow... that was going to be my favorite part of the update...
And I can only find about 3 different biomes, not 11. I was expecting lovely rainforests...
I guess that's the problem. I was expecting too much. But PLEASE, Notch, make some more updates to these things in the next month or so. I'd honestly prefer you to delay the update by a week and finish all ofthese amazing things then release it early just to please the crowds (and thus make a million issues like grass edge color, leaves' particle colors, items disappearing, armor not working, mobs spawning in light, portals going everywhere...)
if he rescheduled the date of the halloween patch, much more people would complain about it.
True, but that is partly Notch's fault too. From the outset, this has been seen as a "it will be released on Halloween" thing and then it became a firmed-up as "by midnight on the 30th". Why did he need to do that? If he had always said something like "It will be released some time in the 7 days following Halloween" but had privately hoped for a 31st deadline, then he could have worked towards a pre-31st release but no one would have been disappointed if he'd not released until, say, the middle of next week because it would still have been released within those 7 days.
Notch set himself a lot of stuff to do and it's pretty obvious that a lot of the fiddly stuff was done in the last 24 hours. As I said in my last post, if that's how he likes to work, then that's fine but, clearly, it made doing what he wanted to do and meeting the deadline an impossible task.
This. He borked himself by setting a large task with an arbitrary deadline to try and please the fanbase, and couldn't or simply didn't polish enough for playability. He soooo needs to not do it like this again. If he's going to continue with this concept of "constant playability" all through dev (which IMO is silly anyway), then he needs to drop to stealthmode and just release what's done and tested. That being said, I think this style of development is hindering him, since he can't just add stuff without worrying about literally half a million people getting a sad or losing their minds. I think the amazing playability of the early work is now crippling him when it comes to adding new content like you'd do in a normal alpha.

Every time I come to these forums, I think more and more that I'm the only person who plays Minecraft normally.
Every time I come to these forums, I think more and more that there is no such thing as playing Minecraft normally.
I'd like to mention for features people say are "useless" they will be fun to SOME. The more features are added, the more different things there will be to do. It will allow people to do DIFFERENT things and play different styles in the same game. Makes it more interesting...
What do you mean? I can walk into hell? Properly! I can walk into another biome, i can fish, i can pick a pumpkin? I dont understand what you mean about "None of the new features work properly", because they sure do to me.
This update is a step in the right direction everyone!
It's buggy, but these are good ideas behind them. The game is in Alpha. Calm down all.
See my sig.

But at the end of the day, they still learned how to make them!
