I have some words of advice.
Stop your bitching and deal with it. It's just a ****ing Alpha. Learn to wait too.
Do you even understand what you're talking about.
What the **** does "It's Alpha" even mean?
I never can get enough of the people who seem to think Alpha = Bugs are ok.
News flash brainiacs.
They're not
When a developer is making a game, yeah you'll get bugs with implementation. But you don't just ****ing bum rush it and ignore all the gaping errors and move on to something else. You fix the errors.
I'll simplify it for you, since anyone who makes this kind of statement probably has issues understanding such a simple concept.
The Right Way! Aka; what most developers do;
Think of cool things to add
Implement them in a beta system and personally test them to iron out obvious errors
Implement them globally via an update and let users report any lurking errors
Fix those errors
Implement follow-up fix to make the product usable again.
Rinse and repeat until there's enough cool things to consider the product finished.
Release it.
The Wrong Way Aka; what Notch keeps doing.
Think up a bunch of cool things to add
Implement them in a beta system (sometimes)
Hand a few implementations together as an update to playerbase with little to no error checking, often times making the entire game almost unplayable.
Ignore playerbase and go on a "break" and let them just deal with the errors.
Fix one, maybe two of them, and even then it only now half works.
Repeat
Rake in thousands of dollars from kids with their parents cash who don't care how shitty the implementations are and how terribly coded the game is, ITS MINECRAFT THEREFOR IT IS THE BEST GAME EVER AND NOTCH IS A GOD WHO **** GOLD FAIRY DUST HAVE MY MONEY MAN YOUR AN INDIE DEVELOPER THEREFOR ITS OK TO NOT DO THINGS RIGHT :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif:
???
PROFIT!
If you aren't seeing the issue here you should probably go to bed, it's past your bedtime kid.
Can someone explain to me why Notch said that there would be less bugs in SMP. AND actually check marked it?
He fixed stairs now facing properly, but now the game has a huge memory leak.
I guess he meant it literally when he called this the "boo update" lol.
because he's a person who makes mistakes and though he might have fixed existing bugs he can't account for everything that might arise afterward? you purchased a game in alpha which makes you a tester of sorts. thousands of people pushing the game to its limits are going to find substantially more bugs than a single person who launched the update only a matter of hours after initially coding it. so you could either have got a delayed update with possibly fewer bugs or an update now with who knows how many unforeseen bugs because of the structure change. either way if you're gonna get red in the face every time something isn't perfect you're gonna have a miserable time playing this game.
You don't seem to understand, troll.
Alpha = Bugs are okay. I am going with this because well, the game isn't completed now is it? Also, you do realize Notch is doing this all by himself, correct? You think he can get everything done by a due time? I'd like to you get everything done before a certain time that is coming in a couple of days. I can admit I cannot. I'm a game designer myself and it sure is time consuming to even fix bugs. Hell, it takes even more time to know what causes it.
I don't see why you guys gotta complain so much over little bugs Notch can fix in a couple of days. Like said before, just deal with it and wait till a bug-fix update comes out. It's like you guys think Notch doesn't know this. Well- he does.
Or I can keep whining about it, till it gets addressed. Works every time.
/facepalm
So you're admitting your a blabbering child who didnt get the toy he wanted.
I can see it now. Update will come out tomorrow, fix everything. Well the grass is still ugly on the side!!!
*make thread about how the majority of people agree with me about how it sucks even tho the majority of the thread is against me* just fanboys going against my rights. Not the reasonable chaps that me and the "majority" of others who are upset about bugs in an alpha game are.
I'll send you 13 bucks because the alpha game you bought for life is buggy today, just for you tho. Works fine for me. Just Sayin

Anybody else having this problem? I'm trying to till grass to get some seeds, but all it ends up doing is digging the dirt. Plus the hoe is indestructible.
I'd suggest pimp-slapping, but if she's indestructible then you can't exactly instill much fear.
It's not useless! My latest player skin is Hugo, from Hugo's House of Horrors. In the game you must find a pumpkin mask to keep the butler from killing you, and now Hugo will enjoy it again!
but now I have 0 reason to really go into hell other than the rare trip to grab a new stack of bloodstone for fire spots.
What about killing a Ghast with your bare hands?
The guy couldn't even implement some rain or snow or whatever for the biomes, they're just a tweak to random generation, and they are completely random, you'll have a tundra right beside a desert, heh...
As with the fishing rods, they are part of a new feature which can be implemented without needing any special rules, like making a reservation at a fine restaurant.
Inventory is lost when you die
Which it did anyways, unless you mean that you do not drop it. But unless you were adventuring less than 5 minutes away it disappeared anyhow.
When you dangle an awesome update for an entire month in front of the player base and then don't even take the time to do ANY notable form of debugging for it, I don't even know, how are you people still eating this same old ****?
ANY - NOTABLE - DEBUGGING says you. How about if you fix the code then, since you clearly have no outside life and all the answers. Yes, go back to the older version - whoop-ti-f'ing-do, big loss, boo-hoo, it's 2012 a year early. $13 (HALF PRICE) plus the chance to be part of the quality assurance team before the final product hits the shelves... all.. for.. naught.
When a developer is making a game, yeah you'll get bugs with implementation. But you don't just ****ing bum rush it and ignore all the gaping errors and move on to something else.
And who said Notch is doing that? Oh you are right now that he has released the update he can't ever fix the bugs in it! /sarcasm.

Wow you are the one who doesn't get it. We are the testers. This is an Alpha test. Notch won't even call it beta until SMP works correctly.
Notch is using what is called Agile development. He rapidly produces code and then we test it and identify bugs and other issues and then he fixes it. This allows him to more rapidly produce the game instead of the traditional plan driven method where code is heavily internally audited before being released to customers.
And even with the traditional method you still need to have customer testing to catch bugs.
I wont even bother reading the rest of the thread, cause.. well its just bashing you, cause youre a douche.
Dont QQ over something good, after every update there are bugs. In a couple of days they'll be fixed, give it time for ****'s sake...
3 updates ago, people like you said those bugs would be fixed in the next update.
2 updates ago, people like you said those bugs would be fixed in the next update.
1 update ago, people like you said those bugs would be fixed in the next update.
This update, people like you say these bugs will be fixed in the next update.
Till the end of time baby.
When beta rolls out people are gunna be saying "This is beta, there will be bugs!"
After the game gets released people will be saying "Wait for the patch!"
Notchdrones will continue to be Notchdrones after all.
Notch fixed the an ancient bug that shouldn't have existed in the first place and broke almost everything else.

As if you could do better.
As someone working on a software project right now, by myself, which I am giving for free to a community, and fixing bugs AS the report them, yes, I can do better. :x

2. I HATE NOTCH WE LOOOOOOOSE ALL ITEMS ON DEATH WTF!!!!!
this has actually gotten to the point where it's just funny. so much butthurt. it's amazing. like flailing children. poor poor entitled flailing children.
guess what? notch has your money regardless how much you complain about a game you knowingly purchased in its alpha phase. Problem?
As someone working on a software project right now, by myself, which I am giving for free to a community, and fixing bugs AS the report them, yes, I can do better. :x
Yeah **** Notch. He shouldn't be allowed to sleep. All bugs in an update should be fixed before he sleeps!

So the door is that way. Toodles

GUYS?
PAY. ATTENTION. TO. ME!
Uhhh, you clearly don't get what Alpha means. You just pretend you do so you can dismiss that explanation.
