All I hear is Jeb ruined this and Jeb ruined that. It's like 12 year olds on a high setting on COD! I'm going to tell all the people who haven't bought Minecraft yet to NOT complain about it when you decided to waist your money without researching on it enough! To the others why don't you look up the update and decide if you want to update it or not! Jeb as so far done mostly what Notch said he would do so if you want to hate on someone hate the creator of the game that is still having his ideas being MADE by Jeb. Seriously people stop complaining about the most optional game ever and just enjoy it the way it is. I really feel like I'm the only one that doesn't complain and tries not to suggest much like I'm trying to do Jeb's job that I know you couldn't do without having the will the put your opinions in it. It feels as if everyone here hates a game they love...really?
I agree, I don't know why people think this. Jeb and Dinnerbone has had a better approach to the game than Notch ever did. Things they added further expanded the sandbox, and Minecraft is purely a sandbox game. I am pretty sure this belongs in Discussion and not Future Updates though. Jeb, like every game developer, understands that not everyone will appreciate an addition to the game, but come on people, at least Mojang cares and is trying to shape Minecraft into a game everyone can enjoy.
I could just never find the willpower to purposely get upset over a free update - one that only functions to expand the gameplay in content - from a company that has no obligation to continue releasing patches after they've already taken my money. I speculate people think that if content isn't favored, then it's bad. No! That's such a forced perspective of things. Not enjoying content does not necessarily mean you hate it, or that it should be removed. Sometimes new content is just middle-ground material.
I don't use potions. I've experimented with the system, but I don't like it. It does not befit my gameplay style. They're totally useless to me, but I don't call for them to be removed, nor do I complain.
If people don't like something, they can remove if they want. They're not stuck with it. that's the great thing about Minecraft.
Yet this will become the base of a big flamewar bonfire because, someone apparently thinks you are wrong, and can prove it with opinions. But I completely agree with you.
Technically Most of the Things in Minecraft are Optional.
Don't like enchanting? don't Enchant.
Hate Brewing? don't Brew
Despise the XP System? Ignore it.
Sadly Most of the Ranters, are ignorant of the fact that about 99.9% of the things in Minecraft are optional.
well.. except for hunger... but that's why we have mods right?
and there's those ranters about the horrible terrain.

'Use a Mod' isn't a sensible answer until the MOD API comes out.
So everyone will then say "Use the API".
BTW, how will the API keep Minecraft from being fully customizable? Won't it help Minecraft being fully customizable?

I HATE WOOD SOOO MUch in THIS GAME

OT: I really hate it when people complain about the game although I've also always liked every single update besides the changing of the texture of the foods.

Also, if anyone has any knowledge, they can actually set their gamerule in order to turn hunger off but still have monsters on. Very useful for a few of my friends who hate hunger.

Actually, it is. Only a person of extremely low intelligence isn't able to install a mod to fix their idiotic hate of the updates. Really? Is it that hard. Install forge and put the mod in the frigging jar!
That's right, people don't like something about the game. Let's call them 12 year olds and say they play Call of Duty! Yeah, that'll insult them! I sure showed them what's what!
And did you know that "hate" is also known as feedback, which makes the game better! (Mindless hate feedback without constructive ideas about how to change what's bad is terrible though)
Yeah, I think people complain too much sometimes but that doesn't mean they shouldn't. If they can provide reasonable arguments about what and why they want something changed in vanilla, they shouldn't be disrespected. Like the terrain for example, it's nothing compared to what some mods offer(like Better World Generation. Seriously, just check it out). Altough mods can solve most problems(if not all), there shouldn't be a reason to not have it in vanilla.
I think that complainers should only complain if their arguments are well based. If he/she is speaking total nonsense and are only yelling then you can't expect me to take someone seriously. Everyone has the right on their own opinion, as long as it is well thought through.

Oh it's one of those threads that lumps trolls in with people who want the game tweaked...Ill just show myself out....
Agreed with these people.
If your argument actually has substance (instead of just BLAAAARG REMOVE TEH HUNGRZ I HATEZZ ITTTTT!!!!1!) then it's not "hate", it's feedback and criticism which are both much better.
Take, for an example, the terrain. Even if you don't think it needs an overhaul, the supporters all have solid points in their arguments and (from what I have seen) are usually able to win arguments from the opposing side (and when they lose, it's generally just that the person isn't very familiar with the debate). What I consider odd about your argument is that you claim that the game has unlimited options (and yes, i'm going to talk about terrain now); sure, the terrain TECHNICALLY has a near-infinite amount of options, it doesn't feel like it does since everything feels the same. The old terrain or the proposed terrain actually feels like it has infinite possibilities since it has a lot of variation and randomness so that every spawn at every seed truly feels unique. I can name a bunch of old seeds off the top of my head that had unique features: "404" and it's gravel-concealed cave, "Gargamel" for it's valley, and "Glacier" for it's epic mountains. The only seed I can remember off the top of my head now is "i don't care", and even that isn't a current seed; the only reason it stands out is because it has a landlocked mushroom biome.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

You dont even try anymore when it comes to getting old terrain back, do you.
Furthermore I think biome transition should be more fluent and more logical. Not only does it look weird to see an jungle tree half covered in snow, it just makes no sense. Deserts shouldn't be directly next to tiagas. There should be an rule in terrain generation that doesn't allow these things.
A temperature system would work better, sort of like how it was used in the old generator. Instead of instant (but somewhat logical) biome transitions, it would slowly transition from logical biome to logical biome etc. etc. etc. until you find a polar biome when you started at an equatorial one. It would also fix transition issues.
Anyway, this thread isn't about terrain, and i'm probably going off-topic here, so i'll leave. PM me if you want.

No, not at all. Nope. Never. Mostly because that's not what we want.
