Anyway, I do have the thread up for my Texture pack. Sorry for the delay; real life happened, and then neither this website nor Planet Minecraft were cooperating.
...guess it can't be too bad, I've gotten a couple downloads already. If you do decide to use it, and need certain blocks soon let me know and I'll give those priority.
EDIT: oooOOOooo...new pics! Things are looking good over there. I love how the Illuminators' Hall is turning out.
Transferred some of the buildings to a "Minecraft" Flat map, now the Dragonmount can be EXTREME!
And I'm also finishing up with the front post, and will think on getting spoiler pictures put in.
In other news, The White Tower has begun construction. But don't expect to see this any time soon. It will be around 150 blocks high, with some 50 blocks down of tunnels and rooms. I've seen some of my people make some square iterations and I can't see it.. It MUST be circular! *Long time coming guys? *
Also, the landscape of The Two Rivers is going to start. Using WorldPainter's unique tools, and MCedit's fast blocking moving and changing, this will go a lot faster than most would think. Just have to get the river right!
Alright... So Dragonmount has just been extremified. If you are curious... Go see the wonderful pictures on PMC. Got 4 snapshots of just getting the mountain. I'm gonna add the snow and dirt and gravel later.

I also did a bit of testing with the landscape around the Two Rivers and y'know... I think we doubled our project timeline this week. . . . s would be so proud.
hey, your teaser in the WorldPainter thread hooked me. I didn't read the whole 5 pages of comments, but i read most of them. I did however read all the books... most of them multiple times over. The first 8 at least three times each, the last one only once, but I'm on another re-read at the moment, up to book 6, my second favorite. I think it might be just me, but I really liked book 13. Like... ALOT! =D
anyway, i too wanted to build a minecraft version of the world of the wheel of time. i never could find a good reference to the height of dragonmount, except that it seems it should be at least double the height of the white tower. then there's the deepest point of the ocean, some trench over near tremalking i think. lets say that point is bedrock, and the ocean is 32 blocks above it. this means you can make the white tower 100 blocks high, and dragonmount 224 blocks high. it's not going to be to scale on the height, but it should still be impressive, and give you some of room. to play around.
oh, and when i did the calculations for scales, i found that the total area would have to be 50k x 45k blocks. if you're going for scale too (it would certainly be ambitious) then i can only say goodluck i think i worked it out to something ridiculous like 2.1gb's for a map that size XD

And don't worry about scale... Scale doesn't fit The Wheel of Time. Just know it'll look awesome no matter what the sizes are. (Except Dragonmount XD )
So cool!! I was actually thinking about doing a White Tower/Tar Valon build... And this has now inspired me to have a real go at it. If you're ever looking for people to help you out, let me know for sure! It makes me so happy that there are other WoT fans around here. If you're a fan of such a fantastic work of art, there's no WAY you could not be awesome.

Only it's that you should use glowstone instead of torches.
Who said anything about using torches? Remember you are looking at concept art. Not the finished product. In fact the lamp-posts are filled with glowstone.. I just haven't shown you yet, because they are subject to change much too often.

Team-wise, we lost one. He's off to college and won't be back until next year for about a week, so we've had to come to terms with the projects that he has worked on, (and hasn't finished). We've already posted his 3D image of the Two Rivers. It looks good, but we found that it's WAY too small. And moving his time-table to ours has been less than crazy. (A folder within a folder within a folder... DECEPTION?)
Project-wise: Slow... The team is down to 4 people, I have to re-read the first few books to get re-acquainted, and we'll start showing off the other projects that haven't really been "oooohhh! sparkles!" and stuff, but the more subtle things like houses and roads. Concepting that stuff. Especially a bridge that being concepted! Oh I am excited for that!

Really. I'm not going to do that by the way. Why? Because by the length of your post and obvious culturing of that demand means you have not read the books. Otherwise it would be a more detailed and thoughtful post that states your request.
I begun building a 1:6 scale
I have completed the northern city walls completely, with all 4 bridges and towers.
I have completed the White Tower perimeter, and completed the Warder training grounds and the gardens.
I have sculpted the entire northern city floor, and main north road, and have begun work on the northern Docks.
My project is currently sitting around 2 million + blocks and around 7 days in game time, and more outside.
Im not sure what to suggest or whether a merge is possible. How far have you guys got?
Well, the hardest part has been getting the landscape to work with us. (That's a tough cookie to crack let me tell ya!) Dragonmount has been resized, (it looks like a real mountain now, which is what we wanted most, but we have to populate it with snow and ice and other blocks), If you have the landscape finished then it's okay to start on building cities. What you see of my pictures on PMC is just the "concept"! So, yeah, it goes a long way to show that our "feel" for the land is more important than copying the blocks from a flat.
I have to admit, that the bridge looks awesome! I want to show my concept of it for our version dangit! (unfinished, *ninja vanish*)
In other news, I got a new job! Takes me 4.5 hrs a day, and I walk unceasingly... -.- $50 I'm fine with in this economy.

If i didn't read that you where planning on making the tower 100 high so that you could make the dragonmount 250 i would totally offer you to use the White Tower that i'm building, i see no better place for it than in a full out Randland map!
Well, I could modify the design based on what it looks like, (me and my team REALLY want this to be all us, except for the texture pack, we just suck at that stuff). But let us come out with the concept first. We wanted to try a few designs. (None are square. . .)
Unfortunately, while I have never actually read these books (never have a good time for reading or gaming anymore) I have heard of them and do know what an undertaking this is. I respect your ambition, and am happy to see you use MC as it was made for: creativity.
So I just played "The Fall of Gondolin" by the fellows over at http://www.mcmiddleearth.com/, and I was wondering if anyone had started this yet for WoT, so here I am. There doesn't seem to be much traffic lately, but if you want some help or a second opinion, let me know. Because I'd love to get in on this.
Basically, when we started paying our taxes... We had to get second jobs which took up all our time. We have probably only completed 10% of what we could have done with the amount of time that I last posted...
This devastates me. I wish that life were more fair, but it wants to play hardball.
As for an actual "server" that you can join in on. We are not considering giving anyone access, 1 because of our limited knowledge of server workings, 2 because we don't want to spend what little time we have 'learning' that and 3, because of server protection mods and software that we just don't have time to implement and work with.. We would rather put our precious time into actually creating the world, than to making it available to the masses.
Besides: Middle Earth has been heavily recreated. Randland has not, so we're doing more work here.
And to ease the passing of time's influential concourse on our monetary situation: We have "NOTHING" new to show off. We've been reading and reading and putting sketches together. With a large sketch deposit.. When we get our time back this summer, we will BAM! and burst all this stuff out. Or we'll die trying...
And for anyone thinking about a merge! --- "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!"
Alright, we got some more content posted, we just felt bad for not doing anything at all... So we did "something" that we knew wouldn't be hard to do, or take us that long either.
