This video is a demonstration and tutorial for building a 2 x however long you need piston bridge. This bridge uses a combination of a T flip flop and a ABBA switch.

My Youtube Channel, feel free to give it a watch. Contains redstone tutorials and Minecraft Let's plays. I may also make you a sandwich too, but I doubt it. http://www.youtube.com/user/GuitarFlat
It's not as good as my first thoughts, because the sides to it aren't the best for a 'bridge', plus your using so many pistons!!! fine for creative, but not for survival, and even for an adventure map, two cobblestone extenders from either side would be cooler (with a TNT falls behind you blowing up the bridge) after you'd crossed.
Having said that.
Great video, well explained, I hope you make more!

Yeah... can't give you much credit because I don't see a reason why you need to have parts that you can't retract, and you made it too complicated. You don't need the blocks to go down after they retract to the right and left.

And to be honest, seeing those pistons is kind of worse than just having it retract to the side.

If you need any help with any computer issues, check my website for contact information. I also do Minecraft Mods... well basic ones, I can make blocks that do specific things. I've also dabbed into making Plugins... like before, simple plugins
First off, thanks guys for all your comments and criticisms. Yes even criticisms. I want to be able to put out good quality content, and you folks have helped me realize I shouldn't settle for mediocre builds, and strive for a higher standard in all my builds. Of course I'll never make everyone happy, but I do take all constructive comments in consideration.

Thanks for you comment and support. Indeed, the sides are not really appropriate for a bridge. I should have gotten a second opinion on that. That bridge idea of yours sounds kinda cool though. I will continue to keep making more videos too. I actually upload one yesterday.

Too complicated indeed. I understand I should really reevaluate the things I build before posting them

This isn't even a new idea, to be honest.

You never want to see pistons, when possible,

I think you might be right about the repeaters.

A hallway would be a more applicable use for this system. Good Call!
I really wasn't trying for something new, but looking back at it now I don't know what I was trying to do lol.
I know antvenom's voice, but I'm afraid I don't know either captain sparklez or duncan. Maybe I should look more into these comparisons.

I guess I don't view pistons as an eyesore, but seeing them does kinda take away from the magic of something.
