Daniel Kaplan recently regarding Minecraft: Pocket Edition on twitch.tv! He was asked a massive volume of questions about the hit pocket game, and addressed a good number of them - all said, the session lasted nearly 2 hours! Kaplan covered a staggering amount of information, including the possibility of texture packs and music, more monsters (with creepers possibly having priority), redstone and much more. If you're clamoring for a taste of what Pocket Edition has in store, definitely and give the session a watch! Note that it's in three parts, but .
Perhaps I shouldn't have built so many creeper statues taunting them...Daniel suggests that their arrival will be "soon". They will want revenge, no doubt.

TheMineStream - Charity for Child's Play
Child's Play - a charity beginning in 2003 dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games - receives millions every year from charitable gamers, and 2012 will likely be no exception. TheMineStream is starting up early this year, by hosting a charity drive this Friday! For guests, they will be hosting a number of in-game events on their SMP server; the arenas and events are being designed by the highly talented team from The Voxel Box, and the event will include appearances by notable Minecraft personalities, such as Vareide, AviatorGaming, SethBling, TheMineBox, and many more. Interested in helping out, or attending the event as a guest? You can get all the details by clicking this link - check it out!
Yeah, I'm not interested in watching that whole thing... anyone who did want to give us a rundown/summary?
It's pretty long...
In short, he said
-The next update will include crafting (and he said caves will be added eventually).
-Pocket edition will have music eventually
-Biomes are currently top priority
-They will maybe not make a Nexus version, its unsure.
-Texture packs are easy to API so we might see easy texture pack-ing in the future.
-Currently, they are not working on long-distance servers, it is too hard
-They are adding lots the stuff from the PC version, though not all, because they "want to create a version optimized for the touch device"
-The new mob AI is "not efficient" and would drain the battery of your device. They will make it different, if at all, on PE.
-Since PE is in C++, it takes longer to do stuff
-He will not give us a changelog until the update is released.
-Villages are a possibility.
-TNT will be added when it is craftable, so when creepers are added.
-Update could possibly be this week, it has been submitted.
-Multiplayer Chat is not a priority, since right now the person you are playing with is normally sitting next to you.
-They will not release PE for low end devices, such as Galaxy tablets.
-Infinite worlds are probably not possible on most devices that PE supports.
-Pocket Edition will eventually have features the computer version does not, but those are subject to change at any time.
-The Nether and The End have been disputed for PE, it just depends on the capacity of phones. "Maybe it won't even be called The Nether" he stated, "Maybe it will be something else."
-Daniel is very exited about the game!
-The Camera will be used to take pictures of your creations easily, but he had some problems with it, so it will be implemented later.
-Caves will be implemented once we get a better FPS.
-They will consider higher render distances on powerful devices such as powerful tablets (iPad FTW!)
-Concerning the hunger bar, he said: "Not right now."
-They have discussed skins, but they will probably not add a way to change skins legitimately until long-distance multiplayer is added. -Skip to 1:11:28 to see Daniel demonstrate the new update :D!
-There is now a pause button in the top corner, since the normal one has bee replaced with "Craft".
-We will be able to mine ores when we get furnaces.
-They have worked on adding Redstone, but can't get it to work with a good FPS. It will be added when we get a good FPS, like caves!
There were also lots of trolls I didn't mention and many unimportant questions. It is definitely worth it to skip to 1:11:28 and watch him demonstrate the crafting though.
Remember +1s are appreciated!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
When I make banners, people always say "THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG YOU ARE AWESOME" but never give me a +1. It makes me sad.

1. That's why you get an iPad if you're looking for a tablet.
2. iPad?
3. Awesome!
The iPad is not a powerful tablet, it's an mid range tablet sold at high end tablet prices.
If people would take their apple blinders off they'd be much better off with android devices.
Actually, Daniel mentioned the iPad in the interview, so at least he thinks so.

Nobody has Apple "blinders". People just prefer a tablet that is easy to use, fun, and good-looking, not a confusing, ugly, nonfunctional pile of dung. Just my two cents.
Disclaimer: Yes, I have used an Android smartphone and tried a tablet. I didn't like either.

Ope.
Those are usually on Thursdays, when they happen.
Also meeting those guys would be pretty epic too.

Notch signed an Xbox only exclusive, so no Minecraft for PS3
Cue the week of waiting for Apple to approve the update...

3. Awesome!
(In case you can't tell, I love my iPad. ;))
Which is by far Mojang's worst decision. Did they think before they signed that?
