COuld it be the Yogscast? it could be, Could it be any of the other Youtubers with a following there? IT could be.
Also if notch is going "Oh god won't you think of the children" Over some f-bombs. I think he lost touch with reality here.
You neglected to mention all the countless other organizations that were involved in creating the total Minecon experience. Event coordinators, etc. It could even be The Minecraft Chick for all we know.
For your second point, you misunderstand Notch's position here, he obviously doesn't care about cursing since he does it all the time, but if someone forced him to take this stance then it would make sense. That someone being an angry parent.
It's actually 2 guys and some extra's doing commentary about many games (not just minecraft). Also if you don't like them, thats fine, 1million+ people do.
LOL, one person said "99%" of us like Yogscast and this "1million+" do. Since there are around 16 million registered users and over 4 million paying users, 1/16th or 1/4th = 99% makes me LOL. To be honest, those numbers are from two people so I cant really say that. The one metric I can point to and compare to those two numbers is that they have only 17,977 subscribers (at the time of this post) 17,977 is not equal to 99% of 16 million or 4 million and 17,977 is not equal to "1million+"

Ugh what?
This is from their main Bluexephos youtube channel.
If you don't beleive me go to their main youtube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/BlueXephos#g/u
So yeah they do have 1million+ Also this is just subscribers, I myself do not have a youtube account and just watch their vids (like many others I'm sure).
I seriously, seriously doubt that that is what Notch is referring to, especially given the subject matter he covered with them during their interview.
Why do people keep bringing up the interview, the interview was put up to youtube where parents can control what their kids watch. The panel was done in front of a live audience with children in the audience, not to mention the livestream. This was supposed to be a child friendly con (I believe minecraftchick said something along those lines during the opening ceremonies). Some people are insane when it comes to their children, and I'm sure notch got a shitstorm because of that intro video. I will agree tho that there is no conclusive evidence yet.
I was the one who said 99%, see 99% can mean that of the 1 mil people who subscribe to them actually like it, but the other 1% are there just to flame and troll. Though not all their videos have 1 million plus views so in turn 99% of people will still probably enjoy it. 99% of who watched their panel probably enjoyed it. @occupy Minecraftforum.net

That is a desperate way to spin it. What you should have said was, "I meant 99% as a figure of speech, it is not literally 99%."
I suspect, while the Yogscast should have censored the first video, it was a mistake and since they made a point to censor themselves onstage (Did they slip up at all live? I don't recall), they are not who Notch was referring.
It would be pretty silly to make a big public deal over an accident. It's not like they were disregarding and cussing on stage.
yes, notch just said it was yogscast, but if you saw the notch-yogscast interview he also said something about simon's mother.(about halfway through the 2nd part)
Isn't this supposed to be watched by kids?
IMO both of them(notch and the yogscast)should have kept their mouths shut

I don't really despise the new terrain, but this would be a cool mod.
Well, it could be that they were nervous.
But I agree with the point that they shouldn't be swearing at a child-friendly convention.
I'd have my doubts about the first part, it seems like they do this on a regular basis. Swearing in front of a crowd of 12 year olds though is kinda the icing on a cake -- it was bound to happen eventually and as a result their reputation with Mojang has gone down.
I fear that the community may split soon, depending on how Yogcast plays their cards next. They may try to defend their actions, call out mojang, and insult them, which would potentially lead to serious damage like a community split, where some agree with yogcast and some agree with mojang. If they accept that they did something wrong, the chance of peaceful resolution is much greater. Surely, Notch and his friends have done some crazy stuff at Minecon that would be unsuitable for kids (see the livestream he put on his twitch.tv account the day before Minecon, especially the parts with dannybstyle), but they weren't doing it right up on stage in front of everyone. :/ I think Notch knows exactly who he's working with, and he needs to hold his reputation in ways.
So, Notch doesn't like that the Yogscast used a few F-Bombs.
I'm assuming he has seen a Yogscast video before. I'm assuming he remembers his own conduct whilst being interviewed by the Yogscast. I also assume that Notch is neither a hypocrite, nor an idiot.
I must then conclude that someone is forcing Notch to take this stance officially. Probably an irate parent who is threatening to sue (and what with it being in America he/she would probably win).
What were the event planners thinking anyway? Yogscast has never been, and should never be, censored for Little Jimmy. Little Jimmy should not have access to it at all.

Obviously the next time Notch gets anyone from the community to speak live on stage in front of 5000, mostly kids, he should establish some PR guidelines to prevent crap like this from happening :/
While I do agree with Notch that it was a bit out of line to swear in front of children, he has learned a lesson: If you don't want people who are known to swear swearing on stage, you should probably establish that to said speakers. If they break this contract, then you have the full right to take action against them, heh.
I think Notch has to be very careful here. Yeh, the Yogscast don't represent the ENTIRE minecraft community, but there is a significant, and more importantly vocal group of people who love the Yogscast, who will be really pissed at Notch for what he's doing.
I don't think Minecon was ever advertised as being "family-friendly" (ive tried looking at the minecon site but any information has disappeared now) and from what I've seen of the Yogscast panel, the swearing wasn't directed at anyone and neither was it malicious, as I've said earlier in the thread. Also, anyone familiar with their YouTube output will know that their stuff is peppered with "f-bombs", it's nothing new from them.
In all honesty, I find the whole thing really bizarre. Maybe the panel isn't the problem, and something happened at Minecon that wasn't recorded?
I'm wondering that too. Did something happen with cameras off?

See you're right. Little Jimmy is probably the one who watches Yogscast. Little Jimmy probably sat with his mommy and daddy at the panel. Mommy and Daddy had never heard of Yogscasts and doesn't watch over little Jimmy's shoulder so now they're pissed. It's like the parents who buy their kids GTA and don't read the ESRB, and cry to Jack Thompson.
I'm sorry, what?
I hate to break it to some of you guys but us brits don't all live in mansions and shoot pheasants. America is more adverse to swearing than Britain by a long shot anyway.

Notch is probably just in a pissy mood today. Even during yogscast interview he was making masturbation hand movements as well as saying masturbation over and over. In this world sex is usually worse than violence. Notch may or may not tone down the yogscast hate. However most likely I'm going to assume these words were said at a convention panel and not so much worrying about their private interview with him. Yes yogscast should be more careful when kids are in the room, however they absolutely should not change the format of their youtube show. I can't stand kids, and it pisses me of if they invoke censorship on others.
If this was about several ****s said during a panel or signing then I still don't really have a problem with that. Now if yogscast directly told a kid to **** off or something like that, then I'd have a problem. However I know they would never do something like that, at least not in public.
Yogscast knows their viewership, and what their viewership likes so they outwardly portray that, even at a convention. However they should just be careful when they are more or less in general public.
I have a feeling minecraftchick was more pissed about this than notch and brought it to his attention.

Anyway ~1.6 million is still a minority of Minecraft users and paid users, especially if they are known for playing games other than Minecraft.
