I hate the idea of pigmen being tribal... can't they have civilized villages just like testificates? With a different style of course, but why do they need to be tribal?
Because Pigman do exist but were not implemented. People just want them to be implemented>
Anyways, pigs don't seem to be that fitting in villages in forests.
I want regular pigmen to be mobs that spawn a bit more frequently than endermen and attack both hostile mobs AND players. You know, a third "team" in the night-time battles?

This idea is good too, though.
That would also be cool!
Don't you mean 4th? The four basic types of Mobs are "Hostile, Passive, Neutral"
But yeah, That would be cool!
I absolutely think Pigmen should be given a proper place within Minecraft, not just as Nether zombies. As long as they don't replace the Testificates, I'd be pretty much fine with however they were implemented.
Hmm... tribal pigmen in treetop villages... certainly an interesting idea. I personally don't think there should be any communication between the player and pigmen- it just seems overly complicated. It might work, though.
I think the pigmen should be a mainly hunting culture- using code recycled from skeletons but repurposed so they attack everything but pigs and possibly the player. Then, squads of pigmen should go out at night- possibly groups of 4 or 5- and kill any mobs they find, collect their drops, and put them into some kind of central chest.
Maybe the food from this chest could disapear at a rate dependant on the amount of pigmen per village- if there isn't enough food, a pigman dies. That way, there'd be a self-regulating population, which could be tracked down by an otherwise untouched area with no passive mobs. Just wait until night, and follow any patrols.
Of course, I don't know how plausible this would be to code in java, having never worked with that. If anyone is familiar with java, could you take a look and see if it's possible. I really want to know now that I've put some thought into it!
Whoa! Nice idea there! Awesome! Putting it in the main thread
Honestly I couldn't care less about pigman villagers. I never wanted them and never will. I just want better NPC AI and for them to look like normal humans.
Also they could be a bit rarer once more stuff is added to them but that's just my opinion.
If Facebook, Google Plus, Tumblr, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
dude you basically stole my idea about pigman jungle villagers it has been already posted like 2 months go, idea stealer
Dude, this thread has been up since January.
I also checked your thread.
You hardly said anything about them, and it was posted in March.
So, Maybe you should get your facts straight before you go flaming someone. :|
