Very nice. Each biome looks really distinct. :biggrin.gif:
My suggestion for the "Wild West Desert" biome is that it is a relatively small biome that can appear within a much larger desert biome - having both this and the regular deserts as large biomes would be a bit awkward, imho.
Autumn forest, on the other hand, would be quite awesome as an entirely separate biome. My thoughts are that this would work really well if there was a kind of compass system (North South East West) from your original spawn, and that these would spawn more commonly the further "South" you went. Or at the very least if these appeared a bit further from spawn than the other biomes, even if there wasn't a compass-directional system.
If the grove is a small biome, the lack of enemies spawning isn't a problem at all, imho. Plus it just looks pretty. :3
Like with the Wild-West desert, the Frost biome should appear within a winter biome, or connected to a winter biome but smaller. Especially since winter biomes tend to be so obscenely massive to begin with.
Sorry, but I lol'd at the Darklands. I like the concept, though, especially with the darker skies (because that would allow for more monster spawnings). Perhaps these could appear farther from spawn, so that new players don't accidentally wander there by accident. And more powerful enemies would be freakin' awesome. :3
Overall, this is a really cool idea - you kept them simple to allow for greater expansion by the community/Mojang, yet each is distinct and would add a ton of depth to the game aesthetically. :smile.gif:

I whole-heartedly agree with all of these. The frost biome and the wild west biome are both really awesome. Maybe the wild west should have taller cacti and some green ground shrubs.

Minecraft makes me feel like I'm three. Playing with blocks and afraid of the dark.
I've added a 6th biome, which I hope you like. Unfortunately, palms aren't that easy making with blocks that big, and maybe Jeb manage to find a block shape that optimises the look.
---
As with all other biomes, people tend to like or dislike them, but I think that the game needs a fair amount of them. So even though all cannot be perfect, they're needed for variation.
I love these designs. You should actually send them to Notch, if these got put in, that would be amazing. I don't really know about Darklands but it still looks awesome :wink.gif:
It feels like they get hundreds of mails each day with requests and suggestions that they don't really have time to read them all.

I like the upgraded beach biome. :smile.gif: The palm trees actually look quite good!
I think that Tweeting them works better for getting the message to them, because like you said they probably get a bajillion e-mails from people trying to give them ideas. And you'd want to send it to Jeb, not Notch, since Notch has abandoned work on Minecraft and Jeb is the lead developer. :tongue.gif:

I like these ideas, but instead of an autumn biome Jeb should make actually seasons that occur after some length of time.
And as for tropical islands I'm sure there will be generated jungle islands.
Wow, these are some great ideas, nice work. Although, the autumn biome is kind of out of place, considering it is always fall there, plus there are already easy sources of mushrooms in swamp biomes and the Mushroom biomes. I thought I heard something about Jeb working on a jungle biome already. I would love to have a frost biome, because I’m not too thrilled with the current snow biomes :dry.gif: , there’s not much in them and that’s all I ever seem to spawn in. It looks like you’ve come up with some great ideas and I would love to see them ingame. :smile.gif:
I was just gonna make a thread just like this, (but with like, 20 new biomes.) And it seems we had nearly the same ideas. It's pretty weird seeing something you were just thinking of posted...
"I often think about that old metaphor, the one that says we are all islands on a wide sea. Especially these days, now that things are more difficult than before and the world appears to be harsher than we once imagined it to be. We are all like islands, the philosopher said. Perhaps it's true. Yet I cannot help but remember an older saying, scratched on a cave wall somewhere by a long-forgotten prophet: in the end, the sea will claim everything."

I'm not that sure I want seasons at all... I rather want biomes of season matching design so I can choose how the surrounding landscape should look like. Moreover, the amount of biomes get reduced if some of it goes the seasonal changes.
tropical biome: YESH
wild west: I think badlands would be better but I like it
frost biome: YES
Blossom biome: JEB GET YOUR PROGRAMMING ASS ON THIS HERE THREAD!
Autum biome: very very very good idea
Darklands: It would have to be about as rare as mushroom biome...but im not sure on this one

I don't actually think an autumn biome is much weirder than the current swamps. The point is to have some colour shifts, just lite they've done with this game:

We need more variety in the terrain generator, so these suggestions are very good.

Idea too awesome to match. Notch should put this in the game. Notch will put it in his game. 5 awesome biomes. Almost an entire new game!
