Okay so i've just got a new PC its a Lenovo ideapad Z710
it has an intel hd graphics 4600 integrated card (up to date driver)
And an Nvidia geforce GT 745M dedicated card (up to date driver)
minecraft has slight flickering GUI and menu then there will be more violent flashing in the background
this is very frustrating i have tried ever setting on minecraft and nothing helps
here are some examples (ones i could catch) Ex.1Ex.2Ex.3
in nvidia control panel i have minecraft set to run on nvidias card not intel and i have threaded optimization off and vertical sync on ( as that's all i could really find for my problem. )
i have tried to run minecraft on the integrated card and i still get flickering
i have tried to use an earlier release of minecraft and i still have flickering
i have tried to use beta drivers for my card and rollback driver for my card....
i have uninstalled java and re-installed
i have deleted .minecraft multiple times
i have tried almost every youtube and google post i could find.... even the ones filmed by portrait iphones -.-
Hmm. Personally, I don't know the cause, or even what might solve it. I do have a few suggestions though, even if you have already tried these steps, bear with me, maybe the tech-support aura will kick in
Firstly, try reinstalling your Java. That can be done by going to Add & Remove Programs (in Control Panel), uninstall everything with Java in its name, reboot, then download a fresh 64 bit copy from http://www.oracle.co...ds-1880261.html and see if that helps.
Then, here are some drivers. Pick the appropriate one, as I haven't heard what Windows version you're running.

Windows 8, 64 bit: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/75992/en-us
Windows 8.1, 64 bit: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/75992/en-us
And if neither of those work after a reboot, try this one: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/nvidiaupdatew64.exe
I really hope something helped. If not, someone else'll have to chime in, unfortunately. I'm surprised this issue is this persistant :/
Edit, note that the lenovo driver should work for both Win 8 64 and Win 8.1 64.
