I've been wanting to upgrade my graphics card for a while now. I currently have the Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS, a older GPU. It plays Minecraft just fine at around 55-60 FPS with Optifine, and at 30 FPS while recording with Fraps. It can also play games like Call of Duty at the medium settings fairly well. But I've noticed it strugles quite a lot with smaller games like BeamNG Drive and Cube World, only getting around 10 FPS (playing them at 30 FPS with 480x360 resolution isn't that fun). The only problem is, the PC I bought around 4 years ago is just a retail-level PC, and it only has a 190 watt power supply. Is there any other GPU's out there that would work a bit better without having to make me buy a new power supply to support it?
Current specs:
OS: Windows 7 home premium.
CPU: AMD Athlon II x4 645 (quad-core, 3.1 Ghz).
RAM: 8 GB.
HDD: 1 TB, two 500 GB external hard drives.
GPU: See above.
PSU: See above.
You could also bump up the PSU to around 500w and grab a 7850 for ~$10 less than that 750, while getting better performance.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I think I'll buy a 750. Also, I opened up my case today, and discovered that it's actually a 300w PSU, this one to be exact. I swear the last time I looked at it, it said 190w xD. Anyway, it meets the 750's minimum power requirement, but I don't think it'll also be able to power a variable speed CPU fan, a 23'' monitor, and four HDDs (two internal, two external). What do you think?

I still wouldn't trust that PSU to run a 750. It looks like it'll probably only give 190w.
Funnily enough, I was looking around on Jonnyguru just for fun and stumbled across an article in which they tested a few bargain basement PSUs, in which your DPS300 was included.
It was tested up to 290W (it shut down on test 4), and came out with decent 12V regulation and surprisingly good 5V and 3.3V regulation. Ripple suppression wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. Also, thankfully, it shuts down "gracefully" when put under a higher load than what it's rated for, rather than blowing up and taking half of your components with it.
All in all, I don't think you'd have much of a problem powering a 750 with it.
Thanks for that link, glad to know that my PSU is of at least decent quality. Just one thing, what do you mean by "gracefully"? Just for example, let's say I put a really high-end GPU in, and turned my computer on. Obviously, it won't handle that, and shut down. If I then take out that GPU and put my old 8400 gs in, will like run like normal, or did the PSU get fried in the process? Sorry, I like to call myself a "computer geek", but I know much more about software and programming then I do hardware and specs....

Depends on whether the PSU has overcurrent protection.
I wouldn't expect that 25% to be too far off from where it is. Mayber somewhere around 15%, and you probably don't want to run such an unit at nearly full load when gaming, for example.
Oh no, I'll only be using this power supply with the 750 for only a week or two. I'm not going to run the PSU at full load for months, I'll purchase a upgraded power supply (very) soon.

If you're getting a new PSU anyways, then I wouldn't go with a 750.... I'd go with a more powerful card, but get a new PSU first. But that's me.
Thanks for all the help, everyone. I was thinking about picking up this 750. I just have one last concern, space. I have just over 1.5 inches of space between the pci-e slot, and the bottom of the case, so I don't think that will be the problem. What I'm more concerned about is that, for some reason, I have a "audio-i1" cable that plugs into my motherboard, and it's right where the 750 will be (since it takes up two slots).

Here's a picture:
I noticed a small slit where the bracket meets the card while watching some reviews on it, and I think it may be able to slide through there if it needs to.
Anyway, do you think I'll have any problems, and if so, any solutions for it?
