Someone tell 4j! And I was thinking what I would want in and I always wanted much more advanced civilizations. So what I would love to see would be massive cities that are all walled in and have a castle in the center and the town would be filled with villagers, guards, then one king. This king would always be surrounded by guards and would rarely go outside but if you manage to kill this king then overtime assassins guilds will begin to appear and kill villagers and set fires. Now once this all happens you can kill them by either just going on your own or buying warriors with diamonds and once the majority of them die the rest run, and the kingdom is yours! Yeah... You would be surprised at how much time I spend thinking about that kind of stuff...
And I just want to say thank you to everyone because we are nearly at 300 comments! So keep on imagining the strangest mobs possible and have a great day!
And I just want to say thank you to everyone because we are nearly at 300 comments! So keep on imagining the strangest mobs possible and have a great day!
Strangest mob i can imagine, eh? That, sir, sounds like a challenge! lol
I'm also with you in that i'd love to see more advanced cities other than these tiny villages, though to be honest they'd almost have to be a new biome in and of themselves!
As far as a strange mob goes it might be time to make something completely up off the top of my head! So bare with me as this is gonna get interesting.
I'm always interested in invasive species and assimilation, so i'm going to marry that into a new creature. It's danger, much like exotic pets will be easily masked by sheer cuteness!
I'm imagining a thing similar to a chubby puppy, we'll call it a Yumpie!
Yumpie
Yumpies will be mostly big fat semi-rounded cube heads with very large, wide mouths, attached to small dog-like bodies barely able to hold them up, with tiny tails that they wag frantically while they're happy, and big floppy ears that drag on the ground. Yumpies, actually have no bones, and seem to be a closer related to Slimes than dogs. When they fall from great heights they splat almost losing their shapes entirely before popping playfully back into shape!
These creatures will also have large expressive eyes, giant tongues, and constantly pant like a dog that's always come back from a good run! They're flabby bodies will be covered in a thin coat of fur similar to a golden retrievers with maybe a few brown patches thrown in for appeal! Then fed, and they'll eat anything organic, they will become 'tamed' and follow a player until they are told to stop. If a player stays in one place for too long these curious creatures will wander around nearby looking for anything to eat. They'll also, even while tamed hunt any nearby creatures smaller then themselves.
This is where i'd put an awesome picture of the creature i'm trying to describe, buuuut since this is a work of my own imagination such a picture doesn't exist. So, uh, you can go back to reading about it some more or take this moment to try and imagine one playfully licking your cheek like a big, floppy, morbidly obese, blob puppy. . . d'aaaaawwwweeee
This is where things get fun! A Yumpie starts off being about the size of a normal block, when they feed they begin filling a meter similar to the hunger meter, this however will be it's growth meter! The growth meter never depletes it only fills and resets, each time it resets the Yumpie will double in size until it becomes a 4x4 behemoth of a creature. each time it doubles in size it also doubles in HP and begins to feed on larger and larger prey, eventually including the player (probably not until it reaches max size, though.) they gain growth depending on that they eat, and they'll eat anything they can fit into their mouths which changes as they grow! As they grow they only add to their diet and will continue to eat everything they would from their smaller sizes, though the requirement for next stage will always double
1st Size - 1 block, 4hp, 0 growth
Small Plants - 1-4 Growth
Loose Items (Inedible) - 1 Growth
Loose Items (Food or Ingredients) - 1 Growth, or as much grows at item fills hunger meter for player
Chickens - 12 growth
Small Slimes - 12 Growth
Small Magma Cubes - 12 Growth
Silverfish - 10 Growth
2nd Size - 2 blocks, 8hp, 20 growth (Causing it to look a bit like a fat, yellow dachshund)
Pigs - 16 growth
Cakes - 12 growth
1st Stage Yumpie 20 growth
3rd Size - 4 blocks, 16hp, 40 growth (Very fat, flatter version of it's first form)
Cactus - 10 Growth per block
Sheep - 24 Growth
Wolves - 24 Growth
Spiders - 30 Growth
Cave Spiders - 30 Growth
Medium Slimes - 24 Growth
Medium Magma Cubes - 24 Growth
2nd Stage Yumpie - 40 growth
8th Size - Division Stage, 1280 Growth
At this stage the Yumpie immediately splits into four 4th stage Yumpie, who each begin the process of growing and dividing anew!
Alternately, the Yumpie's could just double in size and remain semi-rounded cube shapes until they finally reach 4x4 cubes, then eventually divide.
Killing a Yumpie will always cause it to divide to 2 yumpie of one size category smaller, unless it is at it's 1st stage, in which case it just dies and drops a nice item, maybe a slimeball or something! Then killed the newly spawned Yupmie will always attempt to flee until it finds something to eat, in which case it does so and stops fleeing to look for more food.
A Yumpie's bite attack damage is always sufficient to kill whatever creature has the most health on its list of prey in one hit allowing it to be swallowed whole. when a new size category is reached the Yumpie will immediately grow to the next size in a wobbling animation similar to a jello mold hitting the floor then poping back into shape!
Yupmie will be friendly toward players and attack mobs similarly to a tamed wolf, including creepers, until it reaches it's 7th stage. Then it will turn hostile and chase the nearest player down attempting to eat them and anything else that gets in it's way!
As indicated on their diet list Yumpie are cannibalistic and in fact benefit more from eating each other that they do other creatures. Two Yumpie of the same size will often fight each other in hopes of forcing their opponent to split into a smaller edible size. Because of this these creatures will rarely be seen together, unless food is plentiful in s given area!
Yumpie will typically spawn in forests where they have plenty of animals and plants to feed on, but can be seen in any environment other than the Nether or The End, though they will follow player's through portals to get there, and could divide establishing a population (if the game's coding allows. . . let's face it, there may be a technical reason Wolves can't go into the nether!)
That's about all I can think of for this mob off the top of my head. It was actually as lot of fun coming up with my own unique creature! Lemme know what you think, maybe we can all work on it and see if 4J wants to add it as the first exclusive Xbox mob! That is, unless you guys think it's a terrible idea, in which case it's just back to the drawing board.
simply epic. lol you sir, certainly have too much time on your hands! cool idea, and a lot of thought put into it, alas i think it is unlikely to ever be included due to the fact that eventually, they will take over your world. shame though, would have been interesting.
Glad you liked it. . . and yes, I do have way too much time on my hands. (You'd think I'd have had found another job by now, but what can you do, right!)
As long as you guys enjoy my crazy suggestions i'll keep on coming up with new ones!
My original thought, though i forgot to express it, was that the Yumpie would eventually take over the ecosystem, as it was supposed to mimic an invasive species moving into and destroying an environment, but that actually could easily be negated by having a spawn cap like passive mobs have. Let's face it, as fun as the idea is, it would suck to have these guys ruin a world you've been working on for so long by eating all the animals and tearing down all the trees and cacti.
Ooh, that does give me an interesting idea, though. It's not nearly complete enough to be a suggestion, but what if we ran with assimilation as the theme for a type of mob! I'm thinking something akin to an idea i had a while ago where the mushrooms that take over mooshrooms would take over villagers, who'd then work to spread mycellium and grow a mushroom biome. I'd have to expand it to show how villagers become infected, and find a way to keep the game playable during and after a mushroom invasion. hmm. . . This one's gonna be big and may go beyond a mob, maybe i should make a new thread for it, or would that be against the rules and get it locked?
Ravvin a small animal resembling a rabbit but it eats meat they would behave somewhere inbetween spiders and wolves they would travel in small groups 2-6 of them and docile during the night and aggressive during the day like wolves if you attack one they all swarm you
Hmm. . . odd. I kinda figured this thread would be locked after they pinned the 75 page+ catchall suggestion thread. I really hope they keep it as we've had a lot of nice ideas in here and i'd hate to have to add them to an already monstrously huuuge thread.
Anyway, a friend of mine recently got me to play on his PC server running tekkit. I really liked a lot of the new ambient animal noises and it just reminded me of how much i'd love to see small critter clutter added here and there. Toads and fish in the water, butterflies floating near flowers, maybe birds that fly about and land in trees that fly away if you get close to them, just some simple ambient life to flesh out the world.
said already I know but the waters are too safe maybe a piranha and there are no flying creatures so a trainable bird and a mob bird would be great too

I would like to see evil villagers maybe like one in every town. A villager tells you about it and it would play out like a Bounty Hunter Mission. He would stay gone until you sleep in a village. He wouldnt do anything to bad and every time you bring him in they would give you a Gold Ingot or if your lucky a Dimond. A horse would be nice and Craftable Saddles. A hippie you touch him and start slowing down for 10 seconds. If you hit him he pulls out his gutair and starts singin. Everything within five blox is hurt slowly losing life till it is out of the five block radius.
something deadly in the water. as long as its deadly

I would add a werewolf (yay theres a mod for that on the pc). When you get attacked by it you have a 25% to get bitten and when ya did your skin would change to look like a werewolf for 5 min and you would get some bonus side effects. Well it the 5 min would instantly hit zero if your in sunlight so it can only last when your not exposed to sunlight.
