1. Make a new text file
2. Make it "plain text"
3. Paste this inside:
#!/bin/bash
cd "`dirname "$0"`"
java -Xms4000M -Xmx4000M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui
4. Save the file as "start.command" in the same folder that your minecraft_server.jar is in.
5. Double-click the "start.command"
Works every time for me!
You don't need all of that, just 'java -jar minecraft_server.jar'.
Also, using AppleScript you can create an application rather than a .command for it.
You can also modify your .profile_bash and make start_mc a command in Terminal to start the server.
Does anyone know how i cam fix this.
I am on a mac running lion.
Also, i was trying to instal modloadermp when i got this error.
Thanks in advanced.

Are you sure you have the proper permissions set on the file?
What does chmod minecraft_server.jar tell you?
