When I turn off my server and turn it back on again it's a new world every time. Is there a way I can stop this from happening?

Try re-installing the program

try saving the server before you shut it off maybe?

Another question, my friends can't connect to my server, do you guys know what the problem could be? (I just started playing Minecraft 3 days ago, sorry if my questions sound dumb.)
