Changelog: click on the spoiler to know the changes so far
July 2015 Update: i recently updated a few small things for the newest patch of minecraft 1.8, it was just small tid bits, like giving the player lapiz for the enchanting and fixing a few doors, that looks weird, also i had to fix all of the Nether Portals again because they teleported players to different areas, anyways i am hoping i can do a complete overhaul to the entire custom map, but i need a better computer, as its really hard to make big changes on my current laptop
Disclaimer:
This map is best played on Single Player
for Multiplayer, you are allowed to cheat if things get to crazy also the Nether needs to be activated since the final battle and ending takes place there and if all players are spawned far away heres the coordinates

These people helped my map back since 2011 to 2013, my map has been obscure since 2014 and 2015, but im hoping to update this map for the newer version of minecraft, i am missing more youtubers, i will add their names here soon :3
it has come to my notice most of the old youtubers have erased or for some reason made the videos of my map unavailable, due to this im cleaning the slate, adding the names of those who tried in the above list and including more modern playtroughs here,
This is just insane, the builds looks spectacular and this is one mind-blowing adventure map.
heheh thank you man im happy to hear you say such comments and compliments, thank you very much Sly :3
i hope others agree with you and find this map fun X3
Sorry dude but after the epic reign of criswel's castlevania map, I just don't think this will be as good. sorry.
awww dude that hurts to read >: this is a re-made version of my old map that was made since last year, and which for me i always considered it to be Criswels shadow since i would always see videos about his map over mine, but i considered that thought selfish and rude, i continued to do what i can and love and hope that the real castlevania fans would pick this up and have fun with it
this is not a grand adventure like criswel this is a Recreation of the many who loved castlevania for the NES, this is a nostalgia trip in minecraft, i know this map wont even scratch the feet of his map, but consider its not ment too, this is for the fans and any who are interested in playing it
thank you for leaving your opinion, though.....i know it wont be a success but let me have my dying dream :'3
Wieners, I want to attempt this game on Multiplayer, but where would the start be? Coordinates would be nice
my god you clever man why the heck i didnt thought about that before xA x!, i know multiplayer spawns you almost in the middle of the map, but with server commands you can just tp to the coordinates, this may also work for the nether spawning you somewhere else
alright let me go get them and update the OP
I am sorry, but this map confused me soo much... WHERE TO GO?
well bloody dracula, i removed a lot of things that could side-track a player to avoid getting lost, the first note tells you to go into the only house with a redstone lantern to pick up your weapons, from there you start to go straight forward to go into the castle and thats pretty much it, just keep going forward, climb anything to allow you to move forward, its hard to apply some sort of "guide" system in minecraft to help new players who dont know or havent played a classic NES platformer >:
if all of this fails then all i can do for you is post this video, its a spoiler since it shows you how to beat everything, but enjoy :3
awesome over a 100 downloads :3 hope it keeps on rising, thank you to all who have donwloaded this map
if you had any problems or have any suggestions please tell me X3
awww download spike is decreasing OAO needs more powah, heheh but to post some news rather than just bumping
i am currently upgrading the texture pack for when 1.3 is released to go hand in hand with the new map updates taking suggestions and feedback that i may recieve until then, i also sent applications to have my map reviewed but that will take a while
im going to go visit other sites and tell them about my map especially SRK since i saw an off-topic forum for castlevania
wish me luck guys :3
Bridgstar has provided the first playtrough of this map, he did it alongside his friend and i will forever thank him for actually putting up trough all my mistakes and errors and see the glorious "The End" if you guys want to see his epic journey check the OP above for his video but i would like to post here his channel lend a hand and support him hes a nice guy on his video and has a black humor here on the forums which by all means find funny hehe XD enjoy :3
phew sorry to have 3 new version of the same map already, but after a detailed lets play i fixed a lot of issues that i hope will help the players, i added all of the changes in the change log which is now in a spoiler due to the huge amount of changes and things i adjusted, also on other news 150 downloads as of today yayz <:3 i hope this number continues to increase, im still waiting for a bit more testers before i send this map to planet minecraft and or other places as i really want my map to be bug free and easy for new players that know or may not know anything about castlevania

2 = Subtle visuals, but nothing outstanding.
3 = Appealing visuals, and effort was clearly shown and demonstrated.

Originality: 3
I would consider this map to be rather original. There are some parts of the adventure maps that really stood out, and were fresh and bringing new, ingenuitive ideas. I believe that some of the ideas would revolutionize the adventure genre itself, enhancing and enriching the overall experience. Having said that, it was not consistent throughout the course of the map, and every level does not necessarily bring something new to the table, and a tad repetitive.
Architectural Detail/Effort: 3.5
There is no doubt that a massive amount of effort was put in into creating this custom map. Every single aspect of architecture was done right, from the towns itself, to the detailed and exuberant castle, it was breathtaking, and was simply a masterpiece. Even the lighting was done right, the redstone torches did give a ambient feel to the castle, setting the mood perfectly. However, if i were to be really nit-picky, i would say that some levels themselves looked a tad bland.
Gameplay: 3
Firstly, this has been a LONG time since i have seen parkour done right. This adds a element of danger and urgency when strategizing your jumps. It stays true to the Castlevania franchise, and does not deviate from it too much. Okay, now for the main complaint. Creepers. As this is a combat and adventure based map, there are bound to be creepers. This map forces one to cheat. You see, when creepers explode, some of the blocks that they explode does not get dropped in the form of entities. When one is trying to climb a stair, and the creeper wrecks it, it sometimes forces the user to spawn themselves the necessary items to fix the damage done. Also, i often get blown up and i would fall into a different level. This is a lingering problem, that has to be fixed, in my opinion. I would suggest making a obsidian coating under the flooring and below platforms. This may not seem like a big deal, but it does make the gameplay much smoother and fluent.
Progression: 3
The custom map progressed fluently and with coherently. All the levels were well sorted out, and it is linear progression done right. Although there are some hiccups and problems due to what i have mentioned above. Those do not happen too frequently, and has a checkpoint system to it. I would suggest re-enforcing the checkpoint with obsidian, as creepers may tend to blow a checkpoint or two up.
Storyline: 2
In any adventure-style map, a storyline is the prominent factor that motivates the player along with the adventure map. Don't get me wrong, the storyline was well written and decently executed, however, it is not structured well. Any great adventure-themed map that you know of, has an intriguing storyline. It keeps you wanting to know more about the story, and slowly you can put two and two together, and the final story seems like a masterpiece, What was lacking in the storyline was mystery. Everything was told to the reader, and does not motivate the reader to progress with the map, to find out more about the storyline. Sometimes, it is good to cliff-hang in a particular note, to enrich the storyline even further.

thank you Slasher for giving this redux custom map its first review, im actually surprised the story was one of my weak points i have re-written the story many times and this is only because of the people who play my map, i notice them ignoring the story or hoping the story would tell them what to do next, Rsmalec told me the same to allow the story to absorb the player into the story to explain what castlevania is about even if the map is aimed towards castlevania veterans new people may not know and thus i have to guide them and explain them what castlevania is about, so within the notes i gave hints and explanations of whats going on while still making the story be a guide system on what to do next and what they should expect next
which my entire map on a overall has always been changing, being modified being adjusted because of the people who play, i removed and added things to please all yet i find myself with something that is not perfect, i know its impossible to make something perfect but at the same time i feel frustrated its never good enough, that im always screwing up something usually i dont talk about my frustrations and sometimes i wish they were just gone.....sigh i just know i can do better but how do i get more people to see that?
sorry for my rant and to all who read this, i apreciate what you did sly and you will be added to the OP :3
wootz were going for the 200 donwloads, just 20 more to go if anyone has had any issues with the current version of the map (v.08) please leave a comment or suggestion on what to fix, to not make this an empty bump i am currently studying how redstone mechanics works to further improve certain traps and add a different final boss all of this will be included in the 1.3 update since at the moment im just fixing any bugs or complains this map may have
also i might re-write the story again thanks to Sly-Slasher review, that my storyline was one of my weakest points in this map so i will go trough it again and try to add more content and more of a purpose to keep playing :3
yayz we reached the 200 downloads im gonna have to respond to other lets players to see if they can review my map other than that i may start working on the 2nd custom map since i found a new version of MCEdit that fixes all of the biome issues so hopefully the water stops freezing over at least thats what i think im going to go under heavy experiments with this new filter and maybe i can get something goin, i will revise my story notes for the 2nd map and possibly re-write the whole thing, anyways thanks again to all who have downloaded wonder how many more will i get :3
aww my map is on froze D: and still no other reviewers playing my map, guess i will have to send this version over to planet minecraft it doesnt always do best there but hopefully it will spread the word out there that i have this map
does anyone have suggestion what other web sites i could try?
