Oh fun will be had
Legendary sure is legendary even for its age (tip, try Vinyl Fantasy 1 next, great map, very hard and requries a lot of thinking on how to solve areas, but it's awesome)
Will do. Had an eye on that map for I while

This guy is pretty cool: Hey! I like, run this... or something:
After I was COMPLETELY done with the monument, I could not resist going back and doing some mining for coal, iron and diamonds, using Fortune 3 where applicable. (Vechs, as you mentioned in your MCEdit videos, the concept of having a "mine" is indeed great fun, and sorely missing in vanilla.) Also had a mega XP grinder and therefore enchanted the bejeezus out of piles of diamond gear. I was Scrooge McDuck rich.
But I was still missing a few things I was used to having (blaze powder, grass blox, livestock, etc.) And I wanted to keep playing. So I decided to jump the wall and just see what was out there. Typical procedurally generated areas, of course. Ran around the perimeter of Vechs' wall until I found a town. Made a rail from my Sunburn Islands base @ Dungeon 5 to the town (and, later, a nether portal). Traded and gathered grass, animals, etc. Proceeded to complete the vanilla game and retrieve dragon egg. This was my first time to the end of the game solo, actually.
It was great fun -- but only AFTER completing the map of course. I guess it could be done with any sky-friendly map, but SI in particular was fun due to the huge mines. Either way, a completely different experience than vanilla survival, for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if I continue to jump the wall when I can. It's like having my own little "Truman Show" in Minecraft.
(Also of note -- it took FOREVER to find a nether fortress for some reason.)
-I managed to get the orange wool out of the silverfish place thingy. Man, silverfish are the most annoying thing ever. Also, they knocked me back really far. It is almost as if they are enchanted with knockbak I :L
-I destroyed the 4 ghast spawners on top. I found the chest there but nothing else.
-I ran into the forest, grabbed the water, died twice on my way back, but the water survived. Also, is there any way to obtain a second water source in NR?
-Now that I have made a cobble generator and renewable sources of food, wood and stone, I have started making a neat looking house rather than a pile of random materials thrown together.
There is no legit way for a second source since Vechs is lazy with updating old maps. You are allowed to cheat yourself a second water source block and netherwart if you find sanctuary (brown wool). However you have to cheat it there and escort it back home like usual, shouldn't be much of a problem though.
Dinnerbone has tweeted that falling sand entities will be able to hold NBT data now! Vechs will finally be able to spawn spawners that spawn spawners, so that he can get spawners that spawn spawners to spawn spawners while he spawns spawners.
Also the spawners would sometimes spawn zombies. :-3

Please only+ me if I post something funny or informative.
Also the spawners would sometimes spawn boomers. :-3
Fixed
Anyways, orange wool is rather easy if you follow every speedrunner's advice (running). Anyways, I feel I should go to DDD after the Sssssphinx. Should I do this or go to Frozen Tropics??

Do you do the joe hills routine when putting the wool on the monument?
(You know, put a sign on the wool saying something about the area it was in, and then lighting it up.)
I do. I feel like it's nice to have each wool tell a little story. :3
Also I have another suggestion for minecraft (well 2 actually) that could radically change ctm maps for ever. What if silverfish and bedrock could take on the texture of every other block? There would be no way to obtain this in game making it a map-maker-only thing but it could solve the i-don't-want-people-to-tunnel-but-bedrock-looks-insanely-ugly problem map makers have.
EDIT: answer to community question: yes (sometimes)

Yeah alot of people [note1] do that, since it just feel a little bit more rewadring if you can look at the wool later and remember what happened there. [note1]: imagine an alot that is made of people. Like a giant human pyramid in the shape of an alot. Hopefully not big enough to become its own planet, because that would be lethal for the people involved

I do put torches, no signs thus far. But I can see the appeal after watching Joe and Vechs' LPs, so I may start doing so on the AMLP map I'm on now. There are usually tons of signs laying around anyway and I don't use them much.
Attention all map makers. Spawner minecarts are able to spawn chests with items in them, seeing as chests are tile entities. Please do not kill me. Have fun.
Question: is it possible to create infinitely repiclating spawners? By my logic you have to limit it to a number of recursions, like for example you could have a structure like this (simplified)
#Original spawner -> spawns
##Spawner1 -> spawns
###Spawner2 -> spawns
etc.
and once you stop adding spawners in spawners in spawners you will end up with a "final spawner" doing nothing. Am i right? I hope I'm not. I want 100% self replicating spawners that have a 50% chance of spawning a mob and a 50% chance of spawning themselves. Infinitely. Stop them quick or they'll bury you. Is it possible or not?

I feel like bows have too few enchantments and are generally not very useful near the end of maps except for blazes and ghasts. I feel like there should be an enchantment that makes bows like they were in beta. It could be called Rapidfire and would cut the draw time to full draw into a quarter of the time. It should probably be pretty rare of an enchant.
Anyone else here think this would be a good idea?

Alright, I'm playing Nightmare Realm. I've got to say, I think the white wool was far too easy. In fact, even though the sign at the beginning suggested it would be harder, I felt like it was much easier than the beginning of Legendary. But IMO NR is much more fun.
Also, you only gave me one pair of man pance. And they wore out.

So thanks, Vechs!
Beats me, but why are you asking now?

Oh, that's why.
Strat, use spoilers if you post lots of videos. It doesn't bug me, but it does bug some people.
You just lost the game.

It's perfectly legit, Vechs actually TELLS you too. He's just to lazy to update the map.
