So I just made myself a greatwood wand with golden caps, and I noticed that It works like an iron/gold pick but never breaks...
Is that a known glitch?
Absolutely loving the mod by the way. Great job Azanor!
huh. how much durability does a pickaxe of the core have?
because imo the arcane bore might actually need a buff. it seems to burn through the durability of the pick way too fast. i think it manages to get through 1/3, maybe 1/2 of its cycle, before the pick is close to breaking.
its fine, that it takes jars of essentia (and a relatively good amount) to have it run at a good speed, but it seems either pretty expensive (with enchanted diamond picks), or high maintainance to keep it running (with regular thaumium picks).
and a lot of maintainance defeats the purpose of an auto mining tool. imo, it could burn like 50% slower through the pickaxe. maybe even slower than that.
edit.: jup, definitely. ive had it running for like 10 minutes. it dug about 16 bolcks deep, which is abut 1/4 of its total range, and the revenue in resources was pretty low. the pick is already burned through.
i dont feel like it should be this much less effective than mining ourselves. afterall, making the bore and getting good enchantments on the pick and focus is a very long and extensive process. not to mention the resources, it takes to make.
the problem might be with the increased width with potency 3 on the focus. if it actually burns 1 durability from the pick for every block it digs, then the enchantment on the focus brings no bonus to the bore.
the cost on the pick would have to be reduced with stronger focus enchants, so it can still dig the same depth with increased width.
I done goofed my textures. What textures are those flashing orbs once the mob dies. No, that's not XP orbs, that's thaumcraft aspect thingamajings: http://i.imgur.com/stjMQAf.jpg

I'm not seeing it in the TC4 textures. It's most likely it uses the xp orb texture with a diffrent coloring and size.

Due to my snarky and sarcastic personality I can easily be seen as a jerk. If I've offended you in any way it was likely unintended.
So naming a golem Grumm does flip it upside down but when hovered over it's name is "Flesh Golem". I assume the flesh bit changes with golem type. Here's a screen shot because it's kinda funny: http://i40.tinypic.com/r1d1mp.png
Hungry is a type of node. Nodes don't become Hungry nodes, at least not that I've ever heard of or witnessed. It is not caused by anything, they are just a node type. A more accurate name for them would probably be "malevolently greedy."
I explored a pyramid, got all the chests, left, and a few days later my friend went back and half the temple was broken with a hungry node grabbing blocks
unless when they just spawn are really weak and become stronger.
This is my first delve into TC4 and it's changes so apologies if this is an easily answered question.
Can someone explain why the bottom-most Energised and Active nodes aren't connecting to complete the chain?
There didn't seem to be anything about it in the Thaumonomicon, but I may have missed it.
Any help is appreciated.
Which node is the starting node? If it's the bottom-most node, that'll be your problem as you can't split a node in two directions. You have to make one solid continuous line from the starting node through all the others.
Ok so after a few hours of testing and troubleshooting I have come to the conclusion that Thaumcraft is causing me some serious issues. When I run minecraft with Thaumcraft the game will run fine for a short time and then suddenly utilize 100% of my allocated memory and the client will close. Regardless of how much ram I allocate to minecraft, Thaumcraft seems to eat it all up randomly within about 2-4 seconds.
I have tested multiple configurations with and without the mod installed:
1, 2, 4, 8 gb ram allocated
normal biomes
Superflat
BiomesOPlenty
Current mod list (Minecraft 1.6.2):
Advanced Repulsion Systems
Applied Energistics
BiomesOPlenty
Buildcraft
ChickenChunks
ComputerCraft
DamageIndicators
Dimensional Anchor
EnderStorage
ExtraBiomesXL
Factorization
Flatsigns
Forestry
GravityGun
Industrialcraft 2
Inventory Tweaks
Iron Chest
Advanced Solar Panels
Modular Powersuits
Mystcraft
NEI Pluggins
Not Enough Items
Numina
Obsidian Plates
Optifine
Railcraft
Redlogic

Tinkers Construct

I am completely out of ideas so I figured I will just post the developer console log, maybe it'll mean more to someone else than it does to me.

I'm guessing that bottom-most node is the start node of your research. Your path can only go one direction, not fork. The best solution might be to bridge from your top-most rune down and hit those other two.

Picks with repair will repair while in the bore, I find this very useful on my pick of the core.
If your using lesser picks, like iron or such maybe try enchanting them with 1-2 levels for unbreaking I as it doubles their durability.
On top of that seeing as the bore doesnt destroy the pick you can combine 2 unbreaking I iron picks at an anvil to get an unbreaking II pick once both have been used up. And so on.
I personally dont like the wider holes so I made a focus just for my bore thats not enchanted to keep it at a 5 radius
Edit: I did some testing in creative and it seems unbreaking is better for the bore. picks with repair seem to be drained just as fast as unenchanted picks, its just once its used up it will still VERY slowly mine because of the repair.
Where as an unbreaking III pick will still have 75% of its durability when the Repair II pick is used up. you just need to manually repair at an anvil.
Pickaxe of the Core is repaired with thaumium so its not too costly to fix it up if you go unbreaking.
I think that a cool addition to the mod would be these two things
1) Make it so the infusion alter could create items made in crucible
2) Make an upgrade-able warded jar because I currently have 8 warded jars filled with Arbor

yes, i have a pick of the core with repair 2 in the bore. but if i let it finish on its own, it takes about 3 hours.
if i wouldnt, i would have to switch the pick every 10 minutes or so.
plus, its kind of weird to run the bore in a kind of stop and go mode.
i think, the potency enchant needs to put less drain on the pick, so its actually an advantage to have a greater width.
every increase in radius by 1 increases the total amount of blocks by a potency of 2 times the depth, (without the enchant).. that means, each level of potency would need to reduce the drain on the pick more than the last one, to keep the same depth.
Guys, Why I cannot see Aura Nodes with Optifine mod on? Is there any incompatibility with TC4?
I can see them pretty well with a thaumometer of the goggle, and I have Optifine installed.
On another note, I too had the problem of the Lost Knowledge, that you can only research Golem Secret after you use 9 fragment to make a Research Note and then proceed to the research.
I had all the Aspects researched, when I had all then Golem Secret unlocked, couldn't research anything, lost quite a deal of Aspect trying to.
Turn out, you close Minecraft completely, then restart it, and can research again everything.
Seems like a bug to me, or at least a glitch.
Not to bad, just pretty annoying when you don't know then lost lot of rare Aspects.
Still, one of the best mod out there ^^
Keep the good work
