Thanks for the report, do you know what block/mod is causing it?
Nope, first occurrence was when I was breaking a drinks brewer from that Thirst mod (the block behind it was either sand or sandstone, but most likely sand) and the second occurrence was when sprinting across a swamp and simultaneously placing lilypads (the block behind that, and the water, was either sand, dirt, or clay again, most likely sand)
So, tldr: not one specific block and happened both when placing and breaking.

Redownload, let me know if the bug still isn't fixed.
Edit: Its not fixed x(
Edit2: I fixed it Uploading 3.0.3_a now. (Wow I am terrible at making up release numbers -- I don't want to make this a full revision release, but I want people to see the bugfix, so 3.0.3_a it is.)

Cool, what exactly was the problem? I know the changelog-sentence says "if pointer was on" but what does that mean? I'm just curious.

As I said in the auto-updater message, its mainly caused by server-client sync issues. Client checks if there is block where you placed it, client says yes, then when I go to get the metadata and name from the server, the server doesn't realize its there yet so it returns null. The pointer did not have a null check so it threw a NPE.
Edit: For clarification, this DOES happen in singleplayer as well. (Singleplayer runs a local server)

This is a pretty cool mod, i'm trying it right now and like it....of course, with the mini map our server has, the compass is rather useless, but regardless i really like it
max, the stats do not stay after you close minecraft, and resetting them only resets them till you close minecraft. Also, can you make a stat config file where you can customize the preset for your kills/deaths (in sense of from 1 server, but not another server) tks.
Also, when will the movable gui come out?

Yea, stats are retrieved from the Stats screen in minecraft, and it has had save issues for a while... Resetting only works until a restart because all the reset button does is add a value to subtract from the current stats. Maybe later, as I'm currently working on how I can change to use Forge's GuiIngame event system.
Still no luck with items dissapearing in IC2 machines when "Show Block ID at pointer" is enabled? With 3.0.3.a I can't even get the items back when I place them in, they apparently get eaten.

Yea... I noticed that -- I'm not sure where the bug is as it happens with the pointer off as well...
Uhm... re-read the OP?

I'll work on it for next update!
Fascinating.
The time displayed on the top bar is real life time, not minecraft time.
Also, when will the movable gui come out?

Strange, screenshot?
Thanks!
Hmm.... Odd. IC2 machines work fine when pointer is off for me.
Works fine here -- straight out of the dev environment. https://www.dropbox....02_10.27.40.png
I'll do some more debugging, try and figure it out.
Edit: Just noticed a new forge is out -- expect an update late tonight or tomorrow!
