GLSL Shaders Mod (updated by karyonix) v2.0.1 beta 13 for Minecraft 1.6.2
beta 13 crashes my Forge install (working beta 12 no problem) and doesn't work with Optifine installed. If Optifine is installed, the shader mod will crash before completing startup (both beta 12 and beta 13).
Summary - beta 12 works great with Forge and not optifine
- beta 13 crashes with forge with or without optifine
- Optifine loads fine with Forge as long as neither shader pack is loaded.

GLSL Shaders Mod (updated by karyonix) v2.0.1 beta 14 for Minecraft 1.6.2
Does not require Forge but requires FML (which is included in Forge but can be installed separately).
Compatible with Forge 9.10.1.859, FML 6.2.60.744, Optifine 1.6.2 HD Ultra C4.
Optifine's anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing are not compatible yet. Turn them off when use with shaders mod.

2.0.1 beta2
Fix Skeleton texture bug.
Skip drawing circular shadow.
User can change mipmap option for block texture.
2.0.1 beta1

Before install shadersmod
- Use Mojang's Minecraft Launcher to run Minecraft 1.6.2. Then close it.
- Install Minecraft Forge or FML with its installer.
- Use Mojang's Minecraft Launcher.
Select "Forge" or "FML" in profile box at lower left corner of launcher window.
Click Play.
You should see "Mods" button in title screen below "Multiplayer" button.
Check whether everything is alright and close. Installation
- Put ShadersModCore-....jar in %appdata%\.minecraft\mods folder.
Make sure its file extension is ".jar", not ".zip" nor ".jar.zip".
- If you want to install OptiFine, put OptiFine_....jar in the same mods folder. Run
- Use Mojang's Minecraft Launcher to run Minecraft 1.6.2 with profile Forge.
- Open Option menu, Shaders... button. Click open shaderpacks folder.
- Put some shaderpacks in the folder.
- In Shaders screen click shaderpack name.
Normal map and specular map name
- Insert _n or _s before .png at the end of texture name in resource pack.
It will end with "_n.png" or "_s.png" .
Example
- texture in resource pack : assets\minecraft\textures\blocks\cobblestone.png
- normal map in resource pack : assets\minecraft\textures\blocks\cobblestone_n.png
- specular map in resource pack : assets\minecraft\textures\blocks\cobblestone_s.png
Plan for further development
- Fix compatibility with AMD card.
- Fix compatibility with Optifine's AF/AA.
- Fix compatibility with other mods.
beta 13 crashes my Forge install (working beta 12 no problem) and doesn't work with Optifine installed.
Unable to get the current "compatible" version of optifine and the current version of forge to work together with these shaders even though the description clearly states that they should be compatible. I get this error when installing all 3 mods (among others) when using the forge profile in the launcher:
You discovered a bug in beta 13.
It is fixed in beta 14. Please test beta 14.
You don't need to use OptiForge to install Forge and OptiFine, download latest version of Forge for 1.6.2 from here and install it, then download OptiFine Ultra C4 and put the jar into the mods folder and your done.
Sadly I can't use these anymore due to a crash the other day which shut the entire computer off with a blue screen, it's a shame because I had no problems at all running it, 50 - 100 FPS on default settings depending on the pack, 35 fps on ultra packs such as SEUS, maybe more if I dropped down to normal render.
I can only presume it's my CPU but there are no noticeable performance dips in game, I was using a medium pack at the time and my FPS was around 80, no lag spikes, just a screen black out then system crash, not sure what I expect as a reply but just putting this out there in case it's not my side
That is sad.
I would try limit frame rate to lower value and use lower resolution to reduce GPU workload.
If you just update your graphics driver, take this into consideration. NVIDIA driver 320.xx crash very often on my PC and 326.xx beta crash less often. I can only use up to 314.22.

Sounds like it could be drivers, as Karyonix mentioned, but usually you get the 'video display driver stopped working and recovered' message.
I would suggest cleaning fans/heatsinks/filters. It sounds like either heat, or power if you get random lockups/crashes/reboots with no BSOD or errors.
Err, you said bluescreen, what error does it say? Basically, it could still be: heat, power, drivers, but could also be RAM.
I've cleaned the system, both inside and out, it's AMD 13.8 driver BETA
Depending on the shaderpack I do get the black scree - GPU stopped responding and recovered, java SE binary stopped etc etc
But this was with a shaderpack I know works fine and I've had hours of gameplay fine with it
What happened was, black screen, "Recommended resolution: 1920x1080" which flickers then any sounds freeze up sounding like some bad dubstep, then BSOD / restart, I've run memory tests and all is good, cpu temp is up
I don't mind, I will continue to use the shaders once I build my new computer, new specs are better and will handle it better and has a cooling system for the cpu, also changing from AMD to Nvidia (build within the next week/fortnight)
edit: sorry i didn't see you latter comment, It was a swift blue screen, I didn't get a chance to read it but assumed it was a mem problem but all is good there, I'm going to put it down to the cpu for now and live without shaders for a week or two
Yeah, still up in the air...
Haven't heard of any problems with 13.8 (or 13.10 beta now?).. Actually, ppl are recommending it over 13.4.
So, it locks up, your monitor loses video signal and goes to sleep, and the classic audio loop. I don't mind dubstep, but definitely not when I'm trying to do something else ;)!
I'm going to say it's either RAM or heat. Maybe the CPU or video card is overheating.
It's crazy simple to pop off the CPU heatsink, clean it up, and re-thermal paste it (if you have the materials -- haha ). Pretty simple with the video card, except instead of some form of quick connect, it's usually 4 screws.
Usually, once pasted, you won't run into problems. Some prebuilts are cheap on the paste, or they use a pad (pads are OK for RAM, but nothing else)... Plus you'd have problems elsewhere.
I'd vote for RAM, or small chance a driver still.
Reboot your machine, hit F8 (you want to be hitting it after the BIOS screen, and before the Windows loading screen). Pick 'disable automatic reboot on system failure'. Then reproduce the error.
This way the blue screen will stay, you can get the error, memory locations (only the first one after STOP is important), and a driver/file that caused it. Then, just reset your PC normally to get it back up and running.

EDIT: Dude, your mod is extremely incompatible. Now it's complaining about BuildCraft, same error.
Hey just wanted to Tell you That you cannot Have Mods with this Mod it is a One Mod Thing so Create a New .minecraft Like me, i have a WorldEdit and Optifine .minecraft a Optifine Minecraft a Pixelmon .minecraft a Regular .minecraft just make a .minecraft Backup folder like me then Make Folders in it make a GLSL Shaders .minecraft

Umm, no that is completely incorrect.
There are a small handful of mods that are incompatible. Anything based on modloader (of course -- because FML is supposed to be modloader compatible, but it doesn't appear any 1.6.2 modloader stuff works in Forge). A lot of the video render modifying mods don't, because they interfere with how Optifine / GLSL render the screen.
I've got 54 mods running, just fine... I've got a list around here somewhere...
The user with the error report has problems with BuildCraft & IC2, and I am using both of them .. no problem.
I had problems with PortalGun, and had to remove it.
I hope it works this time.
Right here you'll see this is what the ice looks like.
http://s18.postimg.org/5upvv2two/2013_09_15_13_23_46.jpg
Then right here, the sun looks normal, as well as the water shaders
http://postimg.org/image/ae24glbs5/
But here is what my character looks like
http://postimg.org/image/cu3xuftut/
And also the stuff i hold in my hand is a black square
http://postimg.org/image/5bkslt2hx/
And the shaders are really dark
http://postimg.org/image/oupdv619h/
(All of my drivers are updated, and i'm using Optifine Ultra C4, with forge 859, and shaders beta 13, with 1.6.2)
Where do you post these?
beta 13 crashes my Forge install (working beta 12 no problem) and doesn't work with Optifine installed.
// Surprise! Haha. Well, this is awkward.

Test enabling some matrix variables in shadow pass.
2.0.1 beta9
Fixed loading of texture filtering configuration.
Added option for correct shadow pass frustum clipping (lower FPS).
Added render resolution multiplier option.
Less class replacement.
2.0.1 beta8
Fixed mipmap bug.
2.0.1 beta7
Fixed config not loaded on startup bug.
Less class replacement.

2.0.1 beta1
Sonic Ether has added his new features to this mod and fixed some bugs.
Now it is compatible with Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders v10.0.
Normal map and specular map naming has changed from preview 3 to be more consistent with prior versions.

- Open Option menu, Shaders... button. Click open shaderpacks folder.
- Put some shaderpacks in the folder.
- In Shaders screen click shaderpack name.
Normal map and specular map name
- Insert _n or _s before .png at the end of texture name in resource pack.
It will end with "_n.png" or "_s.png" .
Example
- texture in resource pack : assets\minecraft\textures\blocks\cobblestone.png
- normal map in resource pack : assets\minecraft\textures\blocks\cobblestone_n.png
- specular map in resource pack : assets\minecraft\textures\blocks\cobblestone_s.png
Plan for further development
- Fix compatibility with AMD card.
- Fix compatibility with Optifine's AF/AA.
- Fix compatibility with other mods.
You discovered a bug in beta 13.
It is fixed in beta 14. Please test beta 14.
My little pony ftw :3
You don't need to use OptiForge to install Forge and OptiFine, download latest version of Forge for 1.6.2 from here and install it, then download OptiFine Ultra C4 and put the jar into the mods folder and your done.
I would try limit frame rate to lower value and use lower resolution to reduce GPU workload.
If you just update your graphics driver, take this into consideration. NVIDIA driver 320.xx crash very often on my PC and 326.xx beta crash less often. I can only use up to 314.22.

Don't mind if I dooooooooooo :D!
