I've been having problems, your manager works, but when I put in the CSM mod my minecraft blackscreens I have no other mods installed except Forge.
The exact same thing happened for me, it took me ages to be able to get forge with mc crashing, and now csm turns the screen black after the mojang screen, does anyone know what i should do? I don't know how to get an error report if you want one.

You might have grabbed the wrong version of the manager pack.
The clay soldiers do not make sense as they travel across the floor, sitting.
It happens when their sit trigger activates while they're already moving. I think it's rather silly and comparatively uncommon, as they won't start moving while they are sitting.

Not to be a noob/douche, but what are brick lumps, what are they for, how do you get them, and how do you use them?
It's something a soldier will drop when given a brick, so that another soldier doesn't pick up the brick mid-fight and suddenly become unable to move. You can craft it back into a brick.
I can understand the not adding blocks part and not changing blocks...
How about entities similar to the nexus then?
Control Tower| A control point in a sense... clay soldiers of any color are tempted to seek these towers out and change them to thier color. Some soldiers tend to linger around thier towers while others hunt the rest.... I think the hunt towers/kings/supersoldiers ability should be in an item given to the soldiers. Assassins will finally target the MVP of the team.
Clay Control| The Command center structure. The King and supersoldiers will hover around this structure to defend it (Unless given the Hunt item). This structure will be similar to the clay nexus, if it falls under attack it will spawn 5 ghost soldiers with a stick,shield, and egg upgrades. This structure will go "Offline" like the nexus and will be useless to the clay soldiers at this point.
I am aware that these ideas have probably been asked for... but in a different sense. I think the base and control points should be like the Clay Nexus, a structure entity. This would fulfill peoples "I want bases" & "World Domination" requests and it wouldn't edit any base classes/blocks.

We're working on a companions system which will make a ton more sense than your chickens, but nice thought ^.^
