Yeah I've seen the problem and it's been fixed. The fix will be included in next version.
And the option to disable the mod temporarily is planned but it's not a priority.
Anyways, the next version will be official for 1.4.4 and will be released around tomorrow afternoon.

Yes there won't be any base class modification. However, I cannot guarantee that it will work with 1.4.5 though. I'll see if it is compatible with 1.4.5 without updating.
All right. This mod is almost finished but it does not work with Smart Moving perfectly. There is an animation problem with bow which makes arms rotate awkwardly when bow is equipped. But other than that, everything works fine and head does not show up in first person and body animation shows up correctly while using Smart Moving's features. I'll be working on fixing the problem later. I'll probably release another dev version if I have another free time later also.

This mod is absolutely fantastic.
Sure it has (or had, considering you're updating it) some problems but they really aren't too game breaking.
This really does improve the First Person view and I can't wait to be using this in the latest versions of the game.
Seriously, kudos for making this. I am really impressed.
Could you consider making it so that at a press of a button the mod would turn off in game? For instance, when you're building or exploring and want a good view without your body in the way, you hit a button and your PoV reverts to vanilla minecraft, with just the floating arm? Kinda like, if you're familiar with it, the Matmos mod. It gives background sounds to the game that are awesome, but can get quite annoying, so they made it so you can hit F7 and the sounds go away! Something like that Thanks. Great mod
dude forge isnt glitchy but maybe there is a compatibility problem what other mods do you use if there is a problem we'll have to tell the forge guys and they fix it
or maybe you use a really ing old forge version or a optifine version that is not compatible with the forge version you use
hmmm the updated version for 1.4.4 on page 25 works with 1.4.5. BUT i can see my hand and my body: /

It have run well,and yes,the bug of the double hand/weapon happen too,like as on the photo of the user a quoted.
But,i think you will be happy,to know that it worked well with More Players Models.
Also,as personal commentary,i didn't liked the bow pose animation.
My char look's like as a dark elf aiming...

Forge dosent work with Optifine...
