This is just a simple mod for 1.8 that I made for the fun of it, now updated for 1.8 official.
All it does is override the natural drawing of the Health, Armor, Breath, Stamina(Food bar) and experience bars in a more RPG-Like way.
Update Log:
v1.2 Updates:
- Health and stamina bars now change color when poisoned
- Health and Stamina text may be customized
- Item hotbar key numbers are displayed.
V1.1 Updates:
- Health and stamina bars now flash(outline) upon taking damage or losing hunger
- Texture packs can now contain an 'rpghud.txt' file which may altar the colors of specific bars.
To customize the colors of the mod in a texture pack save this as 'rpghud.txt' and place inside the texture pack, instructions are inside:
-- Comments can be made like this
-- TAKE NOTE THAT ALL COLORS ARE IN HEX FORMAT
-- To get your colors visit http://www.colorpicker.com/
-- Also be aware that you only need the include
-- the colors YOU WANT TO CHANGE! Ones that are
-- not customised will be set to the default
-- Overall bar background settings (The unfilled part of a partially empty bar)

Red - Health (Obviously)
Green - Stamina/Food bar
Gray/Silver - Armor bar
Blue - Breath
Yellow(Forgot) - Experience <-- Accross the bottom of the screen
Very nice, but I think you should label what the gray and blue bars are. Nameless bars can confuse people.
The only problem is there is only one size of text in Minecraft and I want the bars not to be too space consuming. Also they only appear when you have armor on / are in the water, so it becomes pretty apparent and obvious what is what.
I think you should switch around the positions of the breath and the armour bar around like MC 1.7.3, makes more sense that way.

should add a menu for moving bars around turning on and off text labels and make it possible for texture packs to add backgorund images or alternate bar images. that waythe labels for health ect could be put onto textures and texture pack makers could customise the hud to fit the feel of their packs? or have a notepad based config that can be included in a texture pack for the mod to read?
As for moving around the bars it could be possible though difficult because it still has to adjust to the screen resizing. Colours are easy to customize, but what do you mean exactly by labels for health put onto textures? As in a texture of text?

true... but personally, I think a simple label is kinda ugly. why not just have one icon next to the bar? ex:

Did you notice that it's made by the same person? :biggrin.gif:

Just the hearts/food bars/armor/breath/experience as you would expect. The item selection remains the same tho.
Nice job xD

:ohmy.gif: Didn't think of that, thanks I'll get on it in the next patch (customisable colors per texture pack)
