Hi, just tried installing Twilight Forest on my new 1.4.5 server and client but while it works in single player it doesn't on the server. When I create the portal it crashes and then when I log back in again i'm fine but the portal has no portal blocks. Then if i jump in the portal it loads, shows me the forest for about a second and then crashes with the same portal creation error.
I'm running MC 1.4.5, minecraftforge-universal-1.4.5-6.4.0.393 and Twilight Forest 1.13.1 (Also tried 1.13.0, same problem). Tried searching for parts of the error and no dice so cheers in advance.

The site at http://files.minecraftforge.net/ has all the latest Forge downloads, including ones for Minecraft 1.4.5. AFAIK, any 6.4 version of Forge should work with any of the recent versions of this mod.
I tried the latest version they had just now and I continue to get the error: "Minecraft cannot launch in its current configuration"
I don't understand what's wrong. >.<

The error appears that there is at least one base class file missing, corrupt, or just incorrect as to what it needs to be. Have you tried from a clean unmodded Minecraft? Forge is a great tool, but you really need to install it on a brand new clean install each time you need to change versions. Be sure to make a backup copy of your /saves and /config files before you do an update.
I had that happen to me twice so far, once when I removed a mod that I forgot had base edits, and then again when I tried to install a mod that needed a much later version of Forge than I had...

This is why this issue bugs me so much is because I have already done exactly what you just described about 10 or more times. I can't find what's wrong. Anything in the folders I should check maybe?

This error is almost ALWAYS caused by a difference in config files. Twilight Forest is a dimension mod that is sort of unique because it doesn't effect vanilla generation at all, and doesn't show up anywhere in it. Therefor, you ONLY see the problem when you try and actually go into the Twilight. If you were to fully wipe both configs of both mods, and restart them both, you would probably get everything working fine.
Errr okay... phew, where to begin. I just created a portal and all went well, so I promptly jumped in. I spawn up in what appears to be some ruins and then a ton of 'Naga' are below me destroying everything. Eventually they destroy the portal and I'm stranded. I'm assuming this isn't what's supposed to happen?
That is called...
Bad luck. You will have to start over from within the Twilight Forest for a while until you can get your hands on a Diamond, and clear the naga out of the area and restart the portal. Don't worry, you can naturally find any ore in the Twilight, so it isn't too difficult, just time consuming to find one. Make sure you keep track of where that portal was though.
Hmm hey Ben noticed the saplings in NEI... noticed sickly twilight oak and robust twilight oak saplings. Do both drop from the twilight oaks? or is only one obtainable through cutting down/breaking the leaves of the tree? the other obtained through some other method?

The sickly one is the one you get from the trees. The robust ones actually are a very rare hollow hill treasure chest item.
Back to what I originally was going to post about... portal placements need a rework asap. I actually had one of my portals nearly kill me due to it's fixed location it tries to place you. If something is placed beside the portal, the portal will still happily try and throw you there, even if it means stuffing you inside the wall to do this. This can also "lock" a portal in an infinite loop. You will get sent though, damaged by the wall, and kicked back into the portal. This can loop for days in the right circumstances (I.E. both the Twilight and overworld side portal have this scenario occur, thus always having them kick you back into the portal... to kick you back into the portal... to kick you back into the portal... ect.)
This opens up a potential hyper grief possibility if someone finds your portal on a server, for all the difficulty of placing just 8 dirt.

I suspected as much, thanks for the confirmation
Nice to see that at least part of the idea I put up for Ben to use for that tree was partially put into the mod, I'm sure some others added to the effect of the idea.
I messaged the creator, but anyway...
The robust oak sapling is incredibly rare, so rare that I thank its probability is less then dungeon golden apple (1 in 1100). At that probability, the chance you will get is practicality 0. If I ever see it, does it come in more then one sapling?
Alrighty, I'm not the greatest at installing things on this computer... i lack administrator codes, and a few other things. however, any time that i try to download something from adf.ly, i get a notification that say "[TwilightForest]" could not be downloaded. My computer allows me to download some things, and some not. I run diagnostics to find out why, and it never gives me an answer. Does anyone else have this problem?
In example, ive already backed up my saves, downloaded the Forge file, and moved it accordingly.. Now im stuck on this downloading issue; has anyone seen/fixed this before?
Mushroom Rings. Allow them to be valid for portals regardless of what material they are on.
Portal Lag Loop: Due to respawning on the ring of a portal, it is easy to fall into a loop of lagging into the portal. Perhaps spawn 4 squares away from the portal.
Mobs through portals: It would be fun for mobs to fall through the portal. Bunnies in the overworld without Transformation Powder!
Boss Respawn: It would be cool if bosses would respawn after a long period of time after being defeated. Like a month in game time. They could respawn stronger. Or how about multiple spawning when it respawns. Fight 2 Naga!
Birds and Bunnies and Squirrels and Ravens: It would be nice if we could small animals like these on our heads...even if it does nothing.
I installed a Gravity Gun mod, and with Quantum Armor and a Gravi plate I was able to transplant bosses to the overworld.
The naga is so confused in a different dimension. He becomes passive and just wanders around aimlessly, hurting everyone he touches (Screaming, WHY MUST EVERYTHING I TOUCH DIE ). I was able to get the Wither to follow him around perpetually, firing skulls at him.
The Hydra (like the End Dragon) can't be lifted with the gravi gun, instead it causes him to start taking damage as if poisoned and die (does the same thing to the end dragon).
The other bosses act normally.
I was also able to transport spawners through the portal. SWEET!
Well, I just had to share that...now what was the other reason.
...Yes, I remember, the uncrafting table.
Is there anyway mod pack creators can add additional uncrafting, repair, and crafting recipes to it? I could see it becoming very handy with other mods.
Also. If someone makes a Twilight Portal in the End and goes through, it causes them them to see nothing of the twilight until they log out and back in.
Ah, one more thing. It really stinks that your mod is not compatible with Divine RPG
I think you need to fix it so that the portal can't appear INSIDE a boss area.
I spawned inside a Naga Courtyard and immediately had to deal with one... not cool.

Make your portal at a multiple of 256, +128.
Major features, including bosses, happen around the multiples of 256. Portals try to keep co-ordinates the same.
So it's controlled by where you set up your portal.
It's not just boss fights. Imagine finding yourself inside a large hollow hill.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

About Hydra, he is the hardest boss in the mod. He is about as hard as wither, and his bite does a lot of damage. I do wonder when Hydra trophy will be functional though. Though his several dozen meat is great.
Hey, I was playing around with the mod, and I have to say, it is pretty freakin' cool. there are indeed some major bugs though. I had the "keepInventory" Gamerule activated, and i had a charm of keeping in my inventory. during a quest in a Large Hill, i died and the charm of keeping reversed itself on the keepInventory rule, deleting my entire inventory. Also, the spawn points are off, as i died multiple times and could not find my portal. thank you if you read this, i hope it gets fixed soon because ireally like this mod.
Ah, one more thing. It really stinks that your mod is not compatible with Divine RPG
actually it is compatible with Divine Rpg....theres a way to change dimension ids. search through the twilight forest config, but back up your world(s) and config folder before doing so.

The robust oak sapling is incredibly rare, so rare that I thank its probability is less then dungeon golden apple (1 in 1100). At that probability, the chance you will get is practicality 0. If I ever see it, does it come in more then one sapling?

Though his several dozen meat is great.
actually it is compatible with Divine Rpg....theres a way to change dimension ids. search through the twilight forest config, but back up your world(s) and config folder before doing so.
