I am installing v1.68, or am trying to, and have been trying for the last month or so. I have tried pretty much everything; I tried MCPatcher...it didn't work. I tried Magic Launcher...It said "no mods found". I tried installing it in the .minecraft "Mods" folder...that didn't work either. Then I tried extracting the files, and zipping the "content goes in minecraft.jar" folder, and trying all the methods again. All of the methods either didn't work (like opening the zip, but not installing it), gave me a huge error report, or a black screen. Finally, I tried the method I don't like: dragging the contents into the minecraft.jar (I don't like it, because you can't remove mods that way). On my first day of installing mods, I installed Modloader and TMI this way, without unzipping the files. The next day, that didn't work; it wouldn't let me drag the contents into my minecraft.jar. It has been that way ever since. I finally tried unzipping the files, and then dragging the contents; that worked, though not without littering my computer downloads folder. When I installed the "Content goes in minecraft.jar" of the train mod, and I tried logging in, I got a black screen. When I logged into Minecraft using Magic Launcher, I got this error report:

I then tried (this is the 2nd time I've done the dragging method for this mod) deleting my .minecraft, as I saw no way to fix this. Both times, It said under "Folder in use", "The action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program. Close the folder or file and try again." It is not, obviously open in another program; this is the only folder I have open on my computer. I clicked "try again", and the same thing comes up, matter how many times I click it. The only way to fix this is to turn off and back on my computer.
The first time I tried the drag-and-drop method, when I logged onto minecraft the traditional way, instead of a black screen like this time, minecraft was stuck on this:

Should I just re-download the trains & zeppelin mod in a newer version? Or am I doing something wrong? Someone Please Help!!! (and please post)!
why you try 1.68? its old and buggy. use 2.09 prerelease. and if you have problems with Magic Launcher - just download zip and put it in mods folder. That's all!

The sad thing is, that cart I tried coupling to it was a chunk loading anchor cart from railcraft, so I bet that train is going to be going on for a very long time (I had a full stack of steel and coke in it >.< ).

i tried that and it still didn't work. 84 is my max too, it can get to 145 i think(or something close to that anyway) on a sizable stretch of straight vanilla track. i don't understand it

Im having an issue when i craft an Iron shovel , It makes a locomotive detector rail and if I try to make an iron pickaxe it will turn into a passenger detector rail. Can someone help me locate the id config file so I can change the id?

well, i just got done re-skinning the heavy locomotive along with its tender + one of the passenger cars, the locomotive now looks more like the DB Class 23 (all that really needs to be done to make it look more like it, is for it to be changed to a 2-6-2 configuration, reduce the size of the head lamp and drop it down a bit) i would try to do this myself but i don't know what program to use

i thought the heavy steam couldn't get better but i was wrong!also, which union pacific was it; the GP 7 or the GP 40? cause the color on the GP 40 was definetly too good to be true. however the GP 7's item could use a bit more yellow(it is totaly lime where the yellow should be).

well now that my high speed is working, we have a new problem Huston. my highspeed car uncouple right after i left my booster stretch. now high speed is for locomotive engineers only. cause only the loco will get pass the booster rails, and keep moving........

Somehow, Traincraft (or whatever this mod is called, lol) assigned those item IDs to vanilla minecraft items. You'll have to modify the config.
