Why ask here? sp614x doesn't know. Better to go ask ... no, actually, better NOT to go bother the MCP developers about it. Better to just be patient like all the rest of ...well, actually, like a saddeningly small minority of the rest of us. It'll be done when it's done. Demanding to know when it'll be done won't speed it up, and will only annoy people.
I'm aware that this thread isn't for PC build conversation, but you seem to know what you're talking about, so I have a question;
How well will I be able to get by with a GTX 660, running with an AMD FX 6300 (3.5GHz)?
While I'm not a calculator, or magician... I can give you a rough estimate/some info.
First off, an AMD FX 6300 is a relatively med-high end CPU (Not good with AMD GPUs or CPUs), and it's pretty good.
A GTX 660 is a good card, I'd estimate around 200FPS with Optifine on Multi-core chunk loading, where as you'll probably get around 50 FPS less without optifine. (But still way more FPS than you'll need, assuming you're using a 60 hz monitor.)
Where as, the guy I originally quoted has a CPU that's almost 6 years old, and has 2GB RAM (which mind you must be ddr2, so it's slow.)
I can assure you, you'll be pleased with a 660 and your CPU.
Also, read the guy who said he got a 660 as well, and runs at 200 FPS.

Thank you! I'm not exactly a tech master, so I enjoy having as much info as I can get.
"He have the update for the next minecraft version ready, we are just holding on because we want to release this on a specific date." - Said no minecraft modder ever.
They will release when they get it done. And probably not even the devs know when that will happen. I'm sure they are doing the best they can to pull it off. Be patient is a nice way to show respect for what they're doing FOR FREE for you.
Even though the test release says it is 1.7.2, will it work with 1.7.4 too?
Yes, 1.7.2 and 1.7.4 are the same version, but with minor changes. There wasn't anymore major code change between these versions, so all 1.7.2 mods will be compatible with 1.7.4.

Either of you get it to work with .4 through magic launcher? It gives me a crash log in .4 and just quietly ctd after mojang logo in .2

If you guys are so worried about when it is going to be done or if you need it use it with 1.6.4... Hypixel's server works with it all MOST pixelmon servers work with 1.6.4.. Give everyone some time 1.7 was a MAJOR update.. Lets see you update from that...
Not sure I'm keen on the new installer system that installs a new profile, I'd much rather just have a zip file of all the changed files so that i can manually mod profiles myself.
