I have an issue with optifine. I have animated paintings in my texture pack, and they work perfectly, but the first frame of various animations show up on different blocks, instead of the texture in the blocks folder of my texture pack. The strange thing is, they cycle through to different blocks randomly. One block I even saw change to the texture of the painting before my eyes! (When I hit the texture pack reloading key.) The current blocks effected (that I know of) are glowstone, and the activator rail. The latter texture does not exist in my 'blocks' folder. The other ones that were being effected, but not now (that I can remember): Jukebox (sides, not top), note block, one lilypad random ctm texture, one cobblestone random ctm texture, and the activator rail has been a constant. I know it is an issue with optifine, because when I uninstall it, it does not show up.
NOTE: the textures that show up are not animated, but are still shots of the first frame.
Guys - Optifine is AWESOME! I downloaded it today after I finally figured our how to, and my average fps levels are more than TRIPLE than what they used to be. Optifine rocks!
REI's Minimap is trash... its well known for its memory/world chunk leaking problems, hence why zans new voxel map is the default in all FTB updates.
I just wanted to add im also getting the texture glitchs with almost any mod ive tried, most notably worst is IC2 almost all machines are bad textures. most have 1 0r 2 bad blocks or items, even a vanilla block (not a used one, you can see it in NEI) has one with forge and optifine alone.
EDIT - sp614x almost forgot to say i had a baby rant a few pages back and wanted to man up and apologize, i honestly cannot play MC without optifine and mods so im very gratefull for your work to make them compatable. looking forward to a hopefull fix before redpower 2 gets updated
Hey guys. I would just like to report/ask something.
Is there any way to get http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/hellfire-sky-pack-2014621/ to work with Optifine? I opened it with Optifine, and it worked great, during the day. Clouds, and sun were working properly. But then at night, then it quit working, and gave me a huge 'missing textures' thing, on the sky.
Note that I turned EVERYTHING on to bug test this. Custom Sky, etc. Everything.
Works fine with the 'Better Sky' Option on MCPatcher. I try not to use MCPatcher, as it doesn't give me the fps increases(which I need, having a cruddy computer).
Anyways, I dont' know why this doesn't work, but I figured that I'd tell you about it. It's an awesome sky texture pack.
I just found that after initializing Forge makes a forced texturepack reload.
The textures are loaded once when starting Minecraft and reloaded again after Forge is initialized.
Maybe something goes bad in the Forge reload.
Hey sp, got home today and tried a new install with c2 and Forge Universal 655 hoping that maybe things might have been fixed but was dissappointed to find that the same issue persists. However, I discovered something that might help finally track down this bug. I read on an earlier post about someone having similar issues and he mentions that the custom sky option seems to reset it like resetting the texturepack so I thought I would play with this option. With the new install when I shut custom skys off the problem is fixed. When I shut the custom sky option off I can then do a reload of minecraft without the textures becoming mixed up. Woot! seems like a strange solution to me but whatever works! Now I can finally start installing mods and see how that goes (sigh!) 70 to 140 fps wow! Makes all my efforts worthwhile in my opinion. I want to mention also when I shut cutstom sky off then turn it back on again Minecraft crashes with an out of memory error. Figured I'd save it for you to have a look at:

This issue occurs with every version of optifine and forge since 1.5.1 was released. I have attempted every possible combination of versions up to your most recent release C1. Keep in mind I only use your Ultra version. I install Optifine directly into the jar after Forge with no other mods other than the mods in my mods folder. I am using the most recent releases of Athery's Ascended and Faithful 32. The issue seems to only occur when I change to one of these texturepacks and only affects the items and the menu icons (in creative mode). The texturepack is fine when it is first changed but any reload of the game using that texturepack results in mixed textures. This is all without any mods installed other than Forge and Optifine. The mods I do use and seem to be most affected are ComputerCraft, Jammy's Furniture, and Redpower2. Seems to be any mod that adds new item textures to the game. I have not played with the mods much because I know the issue occurs without mods and I have been working on fixing this mostly.
...
I find it strange that if I go into the options menu and just click on the same texturepack again the problem is fixed.
...
I am testing Forge #653 + ComputerCraft 1.52 + Jammy's Furniture 4.3 + OptiFine Ultra C2 with both Athery's Ascended and Faithful 32. (RedPower for 1.5.1 is not released yet)
A. Loading the texture pack - all blocks and items are OK
B. Restarting minecraft with the same texture pack - all blocks and items are OK
No combination of mods, texture pack, loading, restarting, etc manages to trigger broken item textures for me.
When testing ComputerCraft I found another bug affecting AA + Mipmaps (minecraft refuses to start), it will be fixed in next version.

Minecraft does not have enough memory to load all the textures.
The CustomSky textures are usually very large so disabling them helps.
So i started simple. I installed Forge and with that it didn't leak. After that i installed Optifine (think i tried them all), and as soon as i change the texture pack(to Sphax 128x) it starts going up. Now what i noticed is it doesn't leak when i change it from within the game. I can post screenshots if you really need them, and give more details if you need them. I also use the Rei's Minimap but that doesn't seem to affect the leak in any way.
Anything i've tried past the 1.4.7 version seems to have this issue. Then again on the 32 bit java it seems to run fine.
It didn't give me any error logs but if i must generate you some tell me how and i'll do it.
edit 1: upon further research, using the OpenGL with the Ultra version makes the game crash in about a minute or less. It just exits. (this would be with 32 bit Java)
Which mods is Forge loading (folders mods, coremods, etc)?
The crash with 32bit Java is most probably a graphics driver problem, there should be a crash log in the minecraft folder.
If the memory leak is only with 64bit Java, but not with 32bit Java then it is not depending on OptiFine. Java should work identically in 32bit and 64bit.

Have you tried Chunk Loading: Default?
Nope default chunk loading results in the same issue with custom sky on. Just noticed that im still using 2.90 for the lwjgl so ill try a new install and see if that corrects it. If your not getting the issue then it has to be something with my set up or graphics card. All my drivers are up to date so I know its not that.

ok so I did some playing around and maybe found why you are unable to repoduce the issue. I play in full screen mode default and if the game is loaded in this mode the glitch occurs. If the game is loaded in windowed mode the glitch does not occur even with custom skys turned on.
I HATE THIS ... please help i love this mod but i cant load up any of my worlds and i cant play minecraft but when i uninstall this mod it works fine please help me

You always do. Higher resolution texture packs load more pixels into memory.
Give a man a fish, and he'll be fed for a day.
What are the numbers like compared to Vanilla? Is C2 better than B3?
Give a man a fish, and he'll be fed for a day.
Did you try turning on mipmapping? If i understand what you mean...

Have you tried Chunk Loading: Default?
Minecraft does not have enough memory to load all the textures.
The CustomSky textures are usually very large so disabling them helps.
It is currently capped at vanilla far even if you have farther distance, which is weird, you can see the beacon before the light xD
Nope default chunk loading results in the same issue with custom sky on. Just noticed that im still using 2.90 for the lwjgl so ill try a new install and see if that corrects it. If your not getting the issue then it has to be something with my set up or graphics card. All my drivers are up to date so I know its not that.
So its a memory issue? When I shut custom sky off, the mixed up textures get completely fixed. Odd seeing how i have 6 gigs to work with.
here's the log
ok so I did some playing around and maybe found why you are unable to repoduce the issue. I play in full screen mode default and if the game is loaded in this mode the glitch occurs. If the game is loaded in windowed mode the glitch does not occur even with custom skys turned on.
*sighs*
What mods do you have?....
Also, the extra emoticons weren't unnecessary....
