Correct me if im wrong but you don't need Risu's ModLoader installed with forge. Because they have there own exclusive ModLoader which is called ForgeModLoader or FML it's basiclly an api that is like Mod Loader that can load ModLoader mods but it has a few extra functions then Risu original modloader
Is FML included with Forge updates for 1.4.4?
You don't need Modloader for Forge to run, but it is handy, and I ran Modloader, Optifine, and Forge all together in 1.4.2. As for "ForgeModLoader," it is kind of a part of Forge, just without the functionality of Modloader. Whenever I run the game, I always see "FML is setting up blah blah blah." for a second or two before the Minecraft window actually appears, but Forge can't load mods that need Modloader. Thanks for the suggestion of FML. I'm trying it out. Doesn't seem to affect the fact that most of the Forge mods that are "updated" for 1.4.4 crash Minecraft if you try to load it, even when it is ONLY Forge and that mod.
Whenever I use the Optifine mod for 1.4.4 it treats my single player world as a multiplayer world sort of. It always goes from Building Terrain to Downloading Terrain and when it finishes I always end up just sitting in the void. World doesn't load for a good minute and when it does I'm often unable to move. Anyone know whats up?
I get this, too. I have had no problems whatsoever using Optifine in 1.4.2 with the current version of MagicLauncher. I am using no other mods whatsoever on an otherwise completely vanilla, unmodded minecraft jar. I simply removed the Optifine 1.3.2 HD B4 zip and replaced it with the newest 1.4.4 HD B1 zip and now when I load a world, it "downloads terrain" and puts me in the void. Even my player's arm texture isn't loaded.

You can try Video Settings -> Performance -> Smooth World -> OFF
Okay I am having issues with chat going beyond the grey boxed area (the space for chat). I have narrowed it down to Optifine. I do not know what happened to the new release, but does anyone know how to fix this? Also, has anyone figured out how to fix the "downloading" of the single player worlds?
The problem with falling into void is appearing when render distance > Far is used.
Minecraft is trying to save the world immediately after the world has been loaded and the internal server freezes for some time.
A save after load should be very fast because nothing has been changed, but the internal checks are not quite OK and it ends saving a lot of chunks (unnecessary). On Extreme the pause can be very long as Minecraft tries to save hundreds of chunks.
The save after load can be seen in the error log as "INFO: Saving and pausing game...".
The problem is not caused by OptiFine, but the freeze time becomes much longer with render distance > Far.
The next version of OptiFine is going to eliminate the unnecessary save after load and so to fix the falling into void.
Latest optifine for 1.4.4 doesn't work with the latest forge. Everything else works fine, forge tells me it found a non-mod archive and injects it anyways but optifine doesn't load.
I tried with a fresh .jar file with only forge and it still didn't work.

I've tried it with Render distance set to Normal and the world loads, but my character is "stuck" in sort of a bouncing animation and would not move. I have not changed any settings whatsoever in MagicLauncher nor did I add anything to my vanilla Minecraft installation, not even a texture pack. I've tried it with Multi-Core on and off with Threaded Optimization in my NVidia Control Panel both on and off, with every combination and permutation of the setting changes you suggested in earlier posts and I either a) fall into the void with no loaded textures or the world loads and I cannot move. Nothing works that will allow my game to be playable with Optifine installed in its current build. I look forward to the update when these things will hopefully be rectified, as I am confused as to how there were no problems or issues with the previous version. Thank you in advance for your swift resolution!!
Hrmmm... Sorry to bug you, I do love Optifine and have been using it since beta 1.8, but in the latest update, whenever i am walking forward and then press mouse1 to punch/mine, my character stops dead in his place, even though i am holding the W key, this also happens with right-clicks. I use no mods except optifine and do not have this problem with vanilla 1.4.4, and there is no error log because there is no crash, so is this a feature or setting? Cause it kinda makes the game (functionally) unplayable, to not be able to mine and move forward at the same time. (Yes, I do use Optifine for better FPS, am a proud supporter of it, and use it consistently.) Any help at all would be appreciated.
when i downloaded optifine 1.4.4 and used magic launcher and log in it gives me a black screen any help??........ anyways i tried 2 ways to try get it working i tried putting the file clean inside the magic folder in %appdata% for what i normally do for magic launcher files and i tried to do it with winRAR and i deleted the meta-inf file help?

Having the same issue. Using Ultra. Long lines of text won't wrap and continues outside the window if you use the default window size. This is a major annoyance to me. Any workarounds? Or could we get a fix?
everything else is working fine, I can live without a custom pigman texture for now...

Same.
Reducing the render distance should help.
I can easily reproduce it with Render Distance: Extreme, but it is not noticeable on Normal.
