Well I will say I had no help in the FPS area (It could help me out in the area of HD textures but IDK yet)
BUT
Allowing my other cores to take part in this allows for nearly instant loading. I personally don't see why I don't get more fps if this helps support multi-core.
Ive had Optifine for awhile now and when the 1.2.5 release came out i jumped on it. But i noticed after my process of loading all other mods on my MC, that Optifine was no longer compatible with MCForge. Is this a bug? I would love to see this worked out. Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Nvm was dumb and didnt check compatibility section. :/
I think I've found something peculiar. When I got Optifine, I immediately turned everything down, all animations, etc. off, and I went to my normal world. I would get, what, 500 FPS at most with everything turned down, when I could get 560 without Optifine while having my normal setup, aside from having short render distance? I am running the smooth version for 1.2.5. Is this a problem or something?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Why am I here when I could be a productive member of society?
I've run into an error during the recording of a certain scientific machinima.
The problem is (And I've tested and found out it's Optifine) when I travel 2,000 meters the world re-renders as if I've pressed the fog key. This seems to happen whenever I've travelled about 2,000 and almost exactly on the 2,000 (Or -2,000) X or Z mark. It also happens again on the 4,000, 6,000 8,000 ect... mark if I continue to travel long distance.
I don't know if this is a bug or if it's intended and required to make this mod work correctly, but if it's a bug I just wanted to try and make sure you know about it.
Thanks for the input. This is intended and solves the problem with the flickering vines and paintings at bigger coordinates.
After using Optifine for a couple of weeks now on MC 1.2.5, I'm finding that my fps is about 50 to 60 percent at best of what it used to be with MC 1.2.4. The only difference is that I'm using Thaumcraft 2, would this mod make that much change in fps.
This is quite possible.
There are many mods which are not optimized for performance.
Both mods/patchers have 'Connected Textures', I've used the "multictm" test texturepack found on the mcpatcher thread, and the test glass included it works in Both mod/patchers. BUT
It also talks about how 'you can use connected textures with any block' and proceeds to talk about the extra .png files and .properties files used to do so.
The funny thing is, despite all of the information on this, connected textures doesn't seem to work on any other blocks, both with Optifine and MC patcher (HD).
...
This is still not supported by OptiFine.
MCPatcher has it since a week ago, but I have never seen it in action (except some test Misa screenshots).
For some reason connected textures doesn't work for me, i am using Faithful 32x32 with the connected textures addon image in the texture pack zip and using mc 1.2.5, can you help me?
edit: for some reason it works in snapshot 12w16a but not 1.2.5? Wierd?

The texture file should be "ctm.png", not "ctm.PNG" or "CTM.PNG".
Still cannot get rid of memory leaks,
With swiches to limit memory: Java uses 300-400MB RAM at start (any lower values result in sound not loading)
Without switches: Jave uses 700-800MB RAM at start
In both cases RAM climbs while playing, not on start menu. Exploring causes memory to climb up higher.
Tested older GPU drivers - same thing. Tested with Java 1.7.04 beta - same thing. Other java things I run has no leaks.
:/
Any other ideas? I am seeking a permanent under 300 MB memory usage
... while I'm using AntVenom's TexturePack the water freezes(not animated). I don't know what the problem is. I tried to re-install and the problem remains... Can someone help me on this one? (I'm not uisng MCPatcher 'cause I think trhat when I use both there's no way to play the game).
In OptiFine's "Animation" settings in Minecraft, change the "Water Animated" setting from "Dynamic" to "ON" instead.
Not sure what to do, Game plays fine, but after playing for a while, chest and a few mod textures disappear. Reinstalled optifine, but problem only gets better for a while after restarting computer.
Should I try using the smooth version for right now? My card is integrated so i cant turn off threaded, but ive never had an issue with the multithread version before.
I'm not sure why, but Optifine seems to be eating up all of my memory when I play. The moment I turn off Optifine, the game's memory is as it should be.
I'm also using your Magic Launcher, and viewed the log, and I seem to be getting a strange report only when Optifine is on:

It just keeps repeating this over and over, with some numbers changing here and there. Like I mentioned, this only happens with Optifine on (I tested it with the normal one, and the multicore one, and still get the same problem). If I use a non-HD texture with the mod, the problem is different, but it still repeats the different message in the log. The memory usage is still high, but not as bad as the HD textures.
I'm not really sure what's going on, as I have never had problems like this before. Hopefully someone could shed some light on this for me!
The website is currently overloaded, I am working with the hosting support to fix it.
If you can not connect, just wait for 1 minute and retry again.

Yes, may be even soon.

Thank you good sir!

A double resolution graphics pack that stays faithful to the originals.
The percentage of randomizing the skins is really really low I think. I spawned a ton of golems and only 1 out of like 30 had a different skin.
It works fine for me, use Magic Launcher and just put optifine at top below modloader, forge ect and then all other mods like mini map.
Read the chagelog in the post...
