No update, but I'd like to mention that it is now licensed under the MIT license, meaning you can basically do anything with it. I've also got some new feature ideas in the works...
Great! How do i get it to work properly!
I do everything it says in the video tutorial, the zip file is gone (as it should be). But the mod doesnt show up in the programs GUI, and the mods aren't installed!

I've never had that problem. Some texture packs and mods don't work properly. Did you get an error that says "Invalid zip file! It's likely that the zip contained another zip.", or something like that?

I didn't get any error messages. I even tried 3 times.

That's weird. Which OS do you use? Try installing this mod. If it installs properly, it's a problem with the mod you're trying to install. If it doesn't, it's a problem with MCManager.

Well im using the latest mac OS
it installed fine, but i dont have Modloader, and thats one of the things that wouldn't install.

It can't install ModLoader, because ModLoader requires downloading ModLoader from the internet and editing minecraft.jar. As far as mods, MCManager only installs mods for ModLoader, and Liteloader. I may add the ability to install ModLoader (and Liteloader) from a .zip in the future, but Windows support may be tough.
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I can't even get the fuuuuurigging thing to open without an error.
I'm on OS X 10.7.5. I double click to open, and instead of opening it just comes up with an error:
MCManager Error

Error when opening MCManager on Mac with Lion or Mountain Lion. I've determined that this is because of an error when building the app. A set of files called "wx" is installed on all Macs, and used by MCManager. I have version 2.8 of wx, but people who use Lion and up have a higher version. For some reason, MCManager refuses to work unless 2.8 is installed.
Maps installed with MCManager show up as completely new worlds on Windows. I honestly have no clue why this is happening.
I have no clue when these issues will be fixed, to be honest.
MCManager Install anything to Minecraft with ease!
MCManager is a program used to install minecraft.jar files, mods, texture packs, and saves to your Minecraft folder with only a few clicks! It also lets you save screenshots to desktop and reset Minecraft!
Supported Platforms: MCManager should work on almost any version of Mac (10.5-10.8), any Linux distribution, and any version of Windows XP and up. It has been tested on Mac OS 10.6.7, Linux Mint 13 MATE edition ("Maya") and 14 Cinnamon edition ("Nadia"), and Windows 7.
Support: For most things, you can simply post in this thread, and I will see it fairly quickly. If you need to contact me directly and quickly, I can be reached at @tkbx_ on Twitter. ANY feedback is greatly appreciated! I want to hear what you like and dislike, as well as feature ideas!
To Do: These things will most likely be added in the next release. Things that are crossed out have been finished and tested, and will be in the next release.
Single source file (consolidate "ScriptUnix.py" and "ScriptWindows.py")
most of the time it says now with mac support but here it was now with windows support.

Yeah, I wrote it on Mac, and it's easy to make a Linux version after that, because Mac and Linux are almost exactly the same. But it took a while to get it to work on Windows, and even longer to find a good way to make an installer.
I ran into some unexpected problems with v2. I've almost finished the command line version (just looking for bugs), and I'll then make the GUI version atop that. Expect a beta release by the Monday the 21st, and a full release before 1.5 (with support for the new texture pack system)
EDIT: Have everything done in both versions except removing files, hopefully a script-only beta tonight, and a full beta release by Monday. Full release within a week or so, all the major road bumps should be gone. The bug where it doesn't work on Mac after Snow leopard should be fixed, I have no idea what caused the Windows bug installing saves, but I hope it was a random issue specific to last version, and will be gone in this version.
If anyone with Mountain Lion wants to test the Mac version when it's ready, please let me know (@tkbx_ on twitter, or reply to this thread)
How did you make the MSI? I can't seem to find a good way to do it.
I use Advanced Installer
You need the paid version for custom backgrounds, icons, etc, but the free one works well. http://www.advancedinstaller.com (freeware edition)
v2 will be released February 10th, 2013, for all platforms. It currently has all the features of v1 with none of the known bugs, the ability to install a folder (not just a zip), and the ability to "walk" the zip file to look for a texture/save in deeper folders, fixing 90% of texture pack and save incompatibilities. v2 will also include the ability to zip saves and export them to the desktop for sharing. It will hopefully include the ability to install ModLoader, LiteLoader, and Optifine.
I haven't tested it on a newer version of Mac OS X, but it should work on all versions now. If it doesn't, I will have to scream a lot and punch a few holes in my wall.

Confused by Superflat codes? Want custom Superflat maps? If so, download Superflat Code Generator.

Are you on Lion or Mountain Lion?
This is the bug on Mac, this will be fixed for version two, which will be released within a week.
Okay, I got someone to test the new version, and it works on Lion (and should work on Mountain Lion)
I'm releasing it this Friday, check back then.
