Maybe someone can help me with this i can't get Magic launcher 0.9.8 to work with the new update 1.3.1. Has it not been updated yet?
I made sure to clear out the bin folder so it has a fresh minecraft jar to use but that didn't seem to help. I do not have any mods. The only thing i am using is a texture pack (John smith). But i doubt that has anything to with it.
Thanks for any help
Here is the error message i get.

You will not touch my jar file. I repeat, you WILL NOT touch my jar file!Keep it simple and use MagicLauncher
I'm also getting a black screen upon start-up. It shows the Mojang logo for a split second, and then goes to black. I let it be for almost 5 minutes, and nothing happened. :/
The only mod I'm using is the most recent build of Optifine for 1.3.1. I haven't modified minecraft.jar in any way. If anyone has a solution to this problem, I would greatly appreciate it!
I seem to have broke my GUI. Would this be a result of running it in an external drive?
I just started it up for the first time.
Cannot move the .minecraft folder, has to stay in the Roaming folder. There is some trickery to make this happen and if you look back to some of my other post I gave a way to do it...... Just be sure to make backups!
So I'm trying to use MagicLauncher to set up a separate 1.2.5 version, and I keep getting errors. Here's the information:
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
You have to keep the default minecraft folder name unchanged. In the bin directory make a folder called "Jars" open that up then make 2 different folders, one named 1.2.5 and one named 1.3.1, then COPY AND PASTE the .jar file for the version in to them. Setup 2 configurations for each version and point it to the jar file located in the versions folder. Also make 2 different mods_other folders per version.
ETA: I haven't actually tried this so beware. In theory it should work but I don't know about different mod versions conflicting with each other in the folders they create in mods
ETA2: Or you could make two different .minecraft folders and put everything from each one in there then point with a configuration.
ETA3: I'm just gonna shut up now before I get myself in some deep poodoo.....

That's what I did actually - created a new .minecraft folder in a completely different part of my computer, tucked (what I hope is!) a clean .jar in there, and redirected MagicLauncher in the advanced options to point to that .jar. I think I'm doing something pretty obvious wrong, but it's not coming to me...
About 40% of the time when I try to open ML it freezes on a white screen, before I even see any login buttons or anything. It will be stuck and unable to close without using task manager.
Update on my previous post - I have an error log here...if anyone could tell me what this means and how I can fix it, I would really appreciate it.

Again, the problem is that when I start up Minecraft + Optifine, the screen shows the Mojang logo for a split second before going completely black (and therefore unplayable).
About 40% of the time when I try to open ML it freezes on a white screen, before I even see any login buttons or anything. It will be stuck and unable to close without using task manager.
Probably a news problem. Go to the Magic folder and edit the config. The last line is the news option, change it from true to false.
I made sure to clear out the bin folder so it has a fresh minecraft jar to use but that didn't seem to help. I do not have any mods. The only thing i am using is a texture pack (John smith). But i doubt that has anything to with it.

I am ALSO gettn the BLACK screen... Hope y'all are workin on an update! <3
I'm using Magic Launcher to play MC 1.3.1, and it works...
I don't think I'm a liar...
Turn your memory down and don't rename the minecraft.jar. Put each separate jar into their own named folder.
It works fine and does not need updated.
