uk ok..... I understand the Moderators have to make things run smooth and safe in the forums, it just looks like peoples topics are being deleted or locked and I know there are the main topics at top and certian posts should be made there. but what about all the others. I was just reading a Herobrine sightings topic and posted in it, then went to get link of a thread on the subject from a different site and when I came back it was completely gone, so the twenty mins I spent writing researching for proof was a waste of time. I feel people should be aloud to post topics of their choosing (as long as there within rules/guidelines) without the fear of it being locked or deleted. I mean some people spend sometime writing thier post to just be deleted. maybe a message to the person from the moderator asking to change, fix, or delete thier post or they will have to lock ior delete it themselves and if the mod don't hear from the person or see the correction on the post/thread then take the proper actions. I totally understand there are lots of bunk posts and people just being boneheads, but there are the people who do care and are just kicking convo, asking a ?, or making a point.
aggrivated forumee, lol j/k

I don't really understand why H is a forbidden topic that merits deletion of the threads; but I do agree with Geneo. The forum rules are very clear about not posting such threads, so I'd be very surprised if the mods ever did let even one thread on the topic ride.
It's basically because we are not allowed to have any fun in this place. Your posts got to meet every strict criteria or it will be locked or deleted. All the wannabe mods will report anything that is disturbing the force to kiss up to the current mods.
This is one of the reasons I was thinking of creating a community based blog, and posted the idea on here. I mean I agree that there does need to be some order, but with how poorly this version of the games forum is handle is just terrible. I mean very few sub-forums and just a few sticky posts (and actually we are not really a forum at all but a sub-forum of the PC version), I mean if you look at the pocket edition's forum, it is a bit better organized than ours. Here's an image to show what I mean -
Have you ever tried to read some the huge posts that we are only supposed to ask questions or post in - I have and I give up after the first couple pages. Sometimes duplicate posts need to be made on a subject because the idea or solution is different than the very first post.
If you would be interested in commenting on my idea for the blog then please visit the thread - just-an-idea-what-do-you-think and leave your ideas, input, etc.

Sorta like how a bee colony works. The big fat queen bee sits around barking orders, while all these drones panic of it. Once the task is accomplished maybe the queen bee had something else in mind now, and she sends them down the torture pit. So here, the queen bee is an Admin. She lets us do our thing- but when a user says something she don't like, she sticks a infraction on their profile. Also in before the staff notices us.
But a Herobrine post IS against the rules. I'd be surprised if it wasn't deleted.
(I'm sure the mods PM'd the poster about the "why").
ok ok, now I understand that and totally agree with the whole post criteria thing. But, what I don't understand is, what is the big deal with this whole H (as people tend to use because using the word Herobrine is like some top seceret x-files area 51 hex or something lol) automatic deletion thing. what is the problem? he's a Myth, an Urban Legend, what's it hurting? so, someone want's to be a minecraft folklorist(lol think I spelled it right) a story teller, it's all good. it's kinda like ghost hunters and bigfoot explorers, some belive and some don't, yet we all may have one thing in common, a good story, fact or faked. I mean I don't really care about the whole hero....oops H thing anyways. I'm just curious now that this whole thing came up lol. all in all it's just a story and these people are hurting no one. we're gonna keep seeing them post from time to time, why not just make a Minecraft Myth and Urban Legends section pinned at the top just for those story tellers and direct all of them there. geuss I'm done for now lol sorry if I am making anyone mad, just a curious opinion is all.

^^^This is the best explanation.
Way too many topics being deleted for someone detecting a vague similarity to another post. I personally don't care if it is a duplicate subject matter, I have no problem with someone trying to get a quick answer to their questions rather than post a question on a 19 page thread and hope someone notices it.

Yeah probably the only reason is was deleted is because I'm pretty sure that there is a rule against such topics. I really don't see the point in those types of threads anyway. No one actually has proof thats real.

That's why BiggRob was talking about having a myths/urban legend section, because there is no proof. Just fun and interesting stories and you decide for yourself if it is real or not.
This is a SERIOUS forum, for SERIOUS people to discuss SERIOUS things, SERIOUSLY!
A bunch of holier-than-thou minecrafters got tired of the joke 5 years ago. So despite the fact that he is a big part of the minecraft culture, we newcomers aren't allowed to be part of the joke.
I guess you shoulda been an OMC, so you could have talked about it back then.
Usually the post is banned because it is informing the community about bugs or glitches. I don't really see a reasoning for that. There is a thread where you can adress glitches but that's just useless. I've posted countless amount of glitches and they still haven't been noticed, probably because there are too many posts to count. But I still think Herobrine posts should be locked because they annoy me and others.

Because it should be in the "Off Topic" sub-forum. Though it's Minecraft-related, Herobrine is still a creepypasta that doesn't fit into any other sections. Besides that, Herobrine topics have a knack for influencing some not-so-stimulating conversations. This is the exact reason why PMC has a section in their forum, called "Ghosts in the Code" specifically for discussion of Herobrine and other supposed sightings of <insert generic creepypasta here> within Minecraft.
I feel like everyone that's posting in this topic is signing the Declaration of Independence, & the British (Mods) are going to imprison us for it (infraction).
