Your posts were removed for being pointless. Just posting "someone is removing my posts" serves no purpose to the topic here.
The point of posting that was to clarify that there were other (relevant) posts missing.
As for the thread, it was a simple mistake. The mod wasn't sure about how we deal with that kind of stuff, and it was locked. It has since been unlocked with the lock post removed. Simple as that.
Thanks.
Mountain out of a molehill and all that.
If the core issue here is not a big deal to you, that's your opinion. This is the second time I've gone through almost this exact same process for other people's threads that I really don't care about. It's the core issue that I care about, the fact that going around saying things are illegal to a huge audience promotes that kind of a culture, and when the things you're talking about are personal freedoms, that can create a significant impact. These court decisions ultimately follow common sense and common opinion. If everyone starts thinking it's illegal for you to enjoy this or that personal freedom, eventually it will become a societal norm, and then there will be grounds for making it actually illegal. Downplay it all you want, but I guarantee there are others who feel the same way.
I believe Jailbreaking isn't illegal, the way you use it, on the other-hand.. depends.. Let's say I install Winterboard or SBSettings, that wouldn't be illegal. Installous for example, is illegal. As you can download expensive apps for free.
Here's the upshot... discussing jailbreaking (assuming control over your own devices) is okay, actively facilitating piracy (obtaining illegitimate copies of Minecraft) is not. This makes plenty of sense to me; I think forum-goers will be happy with this.

We're not some kind of cultural director here, it's just a forum for a game, with some other discussion on the side. We don't have some kind of weird legal standards we're setting here on touchy subjects; we just try to make sure it's a safe and welcoming community. This wasn't a case of us trying to force our legal opinion into the rules, it was just a misunderstanding. Then, we decided we should discuss with each other to make sure we're on the same page, and that was mostly it.
in the future, if you have an issue like this, feel free to post in the Contact Forum Administration subforum, and we can handle stuff like this much more efficiently.

I understand that, but you still have a large audience and there are implicit social responsibilities that come with that.

I did post there. The thread received no response. I quoted it in one of the posts here so it wouldn't completely go to waste.
Also, it's not me who's having the issues. I'm just noticing and pointing it out, hopefully once and for all, publicly, so that I don't have to do it over and over privately. If "I" have an issue with this in the future, the issue that I'm trying to address here -- the way these threads are handled in general -- hasn't been resolved.

That's basically what I just said....
