Hey Guys, I need a bit of help upgrading my computer( its a hand-me-down ), its specs are pretty bad so i need a bit of help like: how much ram, how much ghz, what processor, what graphics card. Here are my current specs.
Get a new computer. You'd need to replace pretty much everything.
You'd need a new operating system since XP is pretty much dead, a new power supply because the old one most likely has outdated connectors, a new motherboard to support a new CPU, a new CPU to prevent bottlenecks, new memory because you probably have DDR2 or DDR memory and the new motherboard would require DDR3, a new hard drive because your current one probably doesn't use modern connectors, and maybe a new case because the old one might not be able to fit a large graphics card or only support old form factors of motherboards.
And I just listed every component to a computer... Just get a new one.
I will still need to know: how much ram, how much ghz, what processor, what graphics card
btw, if i were to use those old specs, how much fps would i be getting
how much are you spending?
FPS in what? you could probably max Half life, get decent gameplay on HL2/Gmod, but get 1FPS lowest on Crysis 3...

You can't even start Minecraft, your GPU does not support the required version of OpenGL.
It only supports OpenGL 1.1 and lower, so you can only run Minecraft Beta 1.8 and older.

It depends. There are two Pentium 4's with 1.8 GHz so aI can't be sure.
Thank you very much for keep on telling me that my computer is worthless.
I said if you had any recomendations, not that I didnt trust you.
No, you don't trust me because you're ignoring everything I'm saying. Or you're just in denial.
For the last time: YOU. CAN. NOT. PASS UPGRADE. YOUR. COMPUTER.
Since you have to replace almost every part, if not every part it is the best to get a new PC. I'll let someone else set you up with a build, I cannot say that I am that good
EDIT: If you could tell us what your budget are, that would be really nice, too

Thank You, for actually responding my question. Im in the uprgrade budget of $300-$500
This is pretty much the cheapest computer I would get if you're just looking to play Minecraft and League of Legends. Since you said your budget is up to $500, there is still room for better components as well.
You should really get na A6-5400k instead for $15 more which has an about 60% faster GPU. High speed memory is also pretty much worthless with a low-end APU.
Is there a point where tests show limited GPU performance from using slow memory? As in a point where you can see lower end integrated GPU's perform fine, but higher end ones struggle. And ya, I realize the A4-5300 is pretty weak. I was just using that as more of a starting point, where one shouldn't go any lower for the sake of performance.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.

oh god this reminds me of the time when i had a PC similar to this
and since you have a TNT your motherboard only supports DDR RAM and DDR graphics cards so yeah your gonna have to build a whole new PC
OP can you take a picture, or link toy our current computer? you may be able to save ~$60 on a case.
Also, if you know how, pop off the side and take a picture of the side of the Power Supply unit. You may be able to TEMPORARILY use that.
However, if you can go $.11 over your $300-$500 budget, this would do nicely. Assuming you're cool with the slight online-buying risk.

Remove the 4GB stick of memory, it'll cause the memory to run much faster which will help the APU a lot.
