Hey, guys. I've been thinking about starting up a YouTube channel for Minecraft, and would need a recording software to do so. I've decided that I will get Fraps, as long as it captures my mic audio and game sounds. I do know that it will not record the desktop, but this will not be a problem if I'm only recording Minecraft… I just want to know if any of you have used Fraps on Windows 8 and if it will record your audio. Thanks!
Also, you can actually record your desktop with fraps.
Actually, Fraps for Windows 8 will not let you record the new UI.
Do you all have any suggestions for a good free video editing software or a good cheap one?
I don't see why it wouldn't, 8 still uses DWM which is fundamentally the same as it was in 7.
I'm not sure exactly why it doesn't work, but if you google it or look it up on YouTube you should find that Fraps will still record your games, just not the Win8 desktop or the start screen.
The ( DMW ) is the feature that provides full screen recording.
You must have a windows Aero theme enabled.
I know it works on windows 7, haven't tested windows vista/8
you could still record full screen if you downloaded something like manycam or Xsplit.
or basically a program that captures your screen like skype...
and then just use fraps to record that selected window/screen/program.
so if you have a really good computer with a decent video card...
you could probably even full screen record on windows xp if you wanted too including vista/7/8... and future OS's.
I personally use Freemake video converter... reduces file size greatly, and quickly converts video format.
you can cut and join parts of videos, and edit a few things. Its limited but very fast.
