Hey, how many people here use Skype? Just out of curiosity - trying to see if there might be interest for an MC Furs chat.
I'm on Skype a lot, but I'm not too good at starting conversations. I have a bit of social anxiety. If you started a group, I'd probably join it, even if I'm not a great conversationalist.
Reminds me, at one point I thought it would be cool if someone made an MC Furries group on DeviantArt. Doesn't seem like many people that are here now have DA accounts. I know AJ and MadDragon do (but they aren't on here much anymore), and NitrousOxide, but I think that's about it besides me.
And... I need to draw that hybrid/chimera fursona of mine as a feral. I think that would look pretty cool.
I just had the most awkward morning ever.......I was having one of the best furry dreams ever, and apparently when I said" My tail is so fluffy" I yelled it in my sleep....
Weird glances all morning.....
Other than that,my current pic is at 90% or so. Got a new graphics card, so now everything runs at 60+ fps instead of 20-.
I would use skype....But Im probally the most socially awkward person on the forums.
It'd mostly be text discussions, so I can't imagine it being too much worse than the forums. ^^
As for the dream, people say weird things in their dreams. Don't put too much worry on it, and others won't suspect anything. The first thing someone would think probably isn't "He must be a furry!"
A note about the MC chat: I don't know what our stance on posting *ahem* content in the chat would be... If enough people there would like to post it, we'd probably allow it to be posted (with a warning, of course, unless nobody minds).

"Furry dream"? Wow.
I can't help but wonder where "my tail is so fluffy" comes into this... There is either a funny story here, or an NSFW one. I'm hoping it's a funny one.

PM me if you wanna join this chat. ^.^
I always forget that Skype has voice chat. I use it as an IM service and so does everyone I know. Occasionally getting a microphone will be mentioned, and I will ask what for, and I will be reminded that Skype does, in fact, do voice chat!
I think his family knows, though. I think he already mentioned it, or it came out as a result of the "stairs incident" or something (sorry for not knowing the specifics). Otherwise, I would think nothing of it if one of my siblings had yelled something like that in their sleep. Dream logic is weird.

-snip-
No worries, it was a funny one, mixed into a weird one taking place in a combat simulator.
-Edit- Called it a furry dream because I didnt know what else to call it, I was leader of a squad of furries basically. And there was some communists mixed in later on...
That actually really bothers me about other furries. Within furry groups and certain contexts, it's fine, but then it starts to seem like an unhealthy obsession. I've heard this from people who aren't furries, as well - it really bothers them when people use furrified terms just for the sake of furry references. It's turned some tolerant people I know away from tolerating us.
But so long as you're amongst furs, that won't make our image bad at all. ^^
Yeah, only a few people i have seen do that, and for the most part its furry/brony people...
But i do say things like.
"You're a pain in the tail"
Or when i am on a server, i just say paw instead of hand or foot, or that i smell burning fur when i am on fire, or that i smell like wet dog afer swiming.

I'm gonna try to form a coherent thought, stand back!
The use of the furry/brony terms (ohgod.jpg) really strikes me as a kind of "wannabe" or "tryhard" thing. A lot like when weeaboos use "kawaii" instead of "cute" and end sentences in "desu". It's one thing to do it in a roleplay situation while in character, and another to do it in everyday speech.
The whole "furry for furry's sake" thing is an issue too I think.
What if the structure of the character's forepaw is closer to a hand than a paw? Would they call it a hand then? (I think that might be at the discretion of the individual characer though). To me, on a bipedal creature, the appendages that contact the ground and are used for movement are "feet", and the appendages featuring digits and used for the manipulation of objects are "hands" regardless of the structure.
Then again, I'm just not well acquainted with it. I still get confused when people refer to their fursonas in first person. Someone commented "murr" about a drawing recently and I was like "lol wut?" and had to ask him what that meant. I see those hybrid terms like "folf" and have to really stop and think about it...
(This has to do more with my level of familiarity and involvement though, so I'm not actually faulting anyone or placing blame or anything, just making a point.)
Tl;dr, there is a time to be in character, and a time not to.
Yeah, i just use them because my skin is my fursona, that zoroark with a blue mane, so i use terms like paw instead of hand or foot because its funny half the time.
I mean whats better.
Guy#1: Hey waskomsause, were you just on fire?
Me: Yeah i was.
Or!

Me: Yes... yes i was... and now i smell like burned hair... *sniff sniff* why do i smell bacon?

YEAH, SURE. TOTALLY NOT POINTING OUT ANYONE. hmph.
Anyways, I sent a message to join that skype fur thing.

So, who else here goes on MC servers and always uses the word paw instead of hand and foot, like. "OUCH! that skeleton just shot me in the paw!
