I wonder why I didn't think to look for something like this sooner. I was certainly seeing lots of dragons in people's sigs. I'm sort of travelling incognito over here. My dragon cave forum name is Fiona BlueFire. You may have heard of me.
I do a limited amount of breeding on request, if anyone needs anything in particular.

Hello and welcome!
I do recognize you from the DC forums. You're a thread mod over in the EG trading center, I believe.

Why am I being referred to as a "dragon caver on Minecraft"?
My egg died of sickness. Now what? I can't do anything about it, no actions are available. Will it stay in my scroll forever?

Click the egg, not the spoiler. It's not THAT complicated.

No, it's picture will remain on your scroll for 2 weeks. However, dead eggs count towards your egg limit for 24 hours after it's death, so you will need to wait a bit before you grab a fourth egg.

Two weeks! (That's a lot!)
Anyway, thx.

Well, there's a lot of mechanics to Dragon Cave, so it may be a bit difficult to understand at first. The DC wiki has a lot of good information, such as dragon types, eggs, and descriptions; clicksites; rarity guides; terminology and quite a few other things. http://dragcave.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Cave_Wiki
My first suggestion is that you use click sites to get views and clicks. You can add your dragons and view others' dragons as well. Your dragons should hatch in about 3 days if you put them in 2-3 clicksites. My other suggestion is to start collecting some BSA dragons (breed-specific action). These are dragons that have special abilities that other species don't have. For example, purple dragons have fertility that increases the chance of an egg being produced from a breeding. Pink dragons can influence the gender of an egg. Magi dragons have teleport which can be used to set up trades for your eggs. Red dragons can incubate an egg to take a day off of it's hatching time. These are the four most useful BSA dragons, but there are a few more. Also, I would suggest getting a DC forum account if you haven't already. You can get a mentor on the forums and you can also find a lot of gifting threads, especially for newbies.
Of course, we're always here to answer questions too.

This is actually not accurate. A dead egg only takes up a slot for 24 hours if the user deliberately killed it, either with the "kill" action or one of the BSA's that can result in death. An egg that dies of sickness or runs out of time does not continue to take up a slot.
Also, in general, instead of directing people to the wiki for help, it might be better to remind them of the help link on their scroll. That has accurate information on most aspects of raising dragons. http://dragcave.net/help
However, there's a lack of exact explanations on the official help page regarding how long a dead egg takes up a slot. That's led to some confusion.

Really? o.o huh, I always thought it was like that for all eggs. That probably needs to be added to the help page, or an FAQ page should be made for DC. ^^
But that's kinda strange... I mean, someone could just snag any egg, get it sick and let it die, snag another, and repeat as long as they want. And that 24 hour waiting period was made as punishment for bad owners, right? So it would only make sense to apply that to eggs that die of sickness or run out of time, right?
Well, I popped in just to say hi. I'm quite new to the forums, though I bought minecraft during the alpha days and I am also a seasoned (in my opinion) dragcave user. If anyone would like to put in a request for a tinsel, please let me know.
