1.8 comes out this week! There have been some pretty long, extensive lists about what 1.8 has on offer, but you know what would be more exciting than a long list? A song about 1.8! YourMCAdmin has put together a funny song that explains 1.8's features really well, and it's just amazing. I don't want to spoil it though, give it a watch!
SethBling has done it again, twisting vanilla Minecraft in ways no one thought possible! In this installment, he has created one of those drinking bird statues, that bob up and down seemingly forever! How does it work? He explains it here - enjoy!
Today, Xisumavoid gives us a detailed tour of the new features coming up in the 1.8 Bountiful Update! In addition to completely new features (of which there are many), a number of bug-fixes are also showcased, and more. Enjoy!
Toby flies solo this week, tackling a Dr Who skin pack, Mojang's interview about the upcoming Xbox Minecraft release, a selection of Minecraft cover/parody songs, and more. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Check out this gameplay video with Bebopvox! Seriously, Simburbia is insane.
SimCity (not the new one): everyone knows this classic franchise. Build a city, plop down some zones, a power plant, some schools, and the occasional tornado or twelve. Adding a game this complex into the world of Minecraft would seem to be nearly impossible. Oh sure, the blocky, easy-to-organize nature of Minecraft suits itself well to designing towns, but what about power, or water, or zoning? Heck, what about those delicious disasters?
Of course someone put it in Minecraft! Disasters and all!
Jigarbov has put together a project, "Simburbia", that lets you play a SimCity-like city simulator right inside Minecraft! Currently, it's only for 1.8 (you'll need the pre-release, as of this writing), but does exactly what it promises: a city simulator system complete with plot relationships, power grids, overlays, population, money, and of course, disasters. It takes a beefy gaming machine to run this monster, but if you're up to the challenge, this will keep you busy for hours!
Check out Simburbia by clicking here.
UPDATE: The stream has concluded, thanks to everyone who came by!

Today's spotlight shines on a resource pack put together by CK20XX, and will change the way you play Minecraft: this resource pack is all about Megaman! New block textures (a large number of which are animated), new sounds, new GUI, new overlays, just about about everything in the game has been converted into a Megaman theme! The pack does a pretty good job of balancing out the new elements to not be too confusing or overwhelming, and fans of the franchise will recognize nearly everything going on here.
Want to try it out for yourself? Check out the resource pack thread: click here!
Fans of Bruno Mars' "Locked Out of Heaven" song will definitely appreciate this amazing Minecraft parody, brought to you by the Jolly Ol' Brits, and voiced by the incredibly talented Lucas Pontes! Enjoy!
